Hey there- time to get this post started after a huge comeback win for the Hoyas... Personally, I would have liked to play UNC instead, but we have here a rematch of last year's second round game in which the bucks got killed in... G'Town has real good depth in the post game with Green, Hibbert, and Ewing Jr. Ohio St. will have to keep Oden out of foul trouble to control the inside game, or it could be another blowout (not in tOSU's favor). Ohio State's outside game and shooting from the perimeter is obviously better than Georgetowns, but Georgetown allows only an average of 58 points per game against teams. Our perimeter game will have to be clickin' for us to win the game, but I think we can do it. I am not a big guy for predictions because it usually curses my team so I won't say a score, just that I think OSU will pull out the W in this one, but it will be VERY VERY hard fought and a game that goes down to the wire... Your Thoughts?

yea, i dont like the matchup more than any other bucks fan, but you gotta believe that we can win it... Matta is one of the premier coaches in the NCAA and will have the bucks prepared for this one...

Also, if the refs call it fair and let the big guys play, OSU should win i think. Oden is better that Green and Hibbert although they are both very good players. It should be a dandy...

I'm afraid Oden will get in foul trouble early and we will be in trouble. Hopefully Lighty stays hot and Cook makes some shots. The 3's will definitely have to be on.

I am certainly going with the Bucks for the win....I was really surpised that the Hoyas were able to pull out the win they did today...Too bad UNC had to let it get to OT. sadbanana.gif

Roy Hibbert presents a challenge to Oden that I don't think Oden has seen yet this season.....the matchup will be one to see for sure.....you have Hibbert with the bigger frame and stronger moves, while Oden is the faster and quicker guy down low.....it will definitely come down to foul trouble and how each team responds to that situation.....

BUT before you get too caught up in that matchup, the Hoyas must find a way to at least contain Conley.....G'Town plays very solid defense and I have a feeling they will come up with some kind of answer.....the Heels have a pretty good PG themselves.....

not to mention two very solid Coaches in this battle.....should be a dandy!

GO HOYAS!!!..... cool.gif

You are kidding...right.........if Hibbert stays out of foul trouble Georgetown could win by as much as 10.........all Buckeye fans must remember one thing.......

The Bucks do not play any defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They play a pretty solid 2-3 and if the 3's aren't falling for the Bucks, they could fall back into that to contain Oden and to stop the Conley drive. I hope the 3's are falling though with Oden out of foul trouble and the great Conley driving ability.

I agree as the Bucks play about as much Defense as Upper Sandusky does!!!!! Butler didn't play D at Shawnee and Diebler played less at Upper!!!

Even though I have G'town winning the whole thing on the RC brackets on Yahoo, I will still be rooting for Ohio State!!!

Ohio State should be ok if the refs don't continue the "Hey, it's Oden! Let's call a foul if he looks at a player funny!!!" philosophy of calling a game...
"You, my good man, are a scholar and a gentleman."
"Well, I may be a scholar, but I most certainly am not a gentleman."

Butler shut down Lofton pretty good in the second half ot the Tennessee game. He had 12 points in the second half I believe but he made quite a few 3's toward the end of the game.

There is no comparison. Syracuse not getting in with a 10-6 in conference play was a crime.
