How does the #1 team in the nation that just beat the #3 team in the nation get not the first #1 spot, not the second #1 spot, but the third #1 spot in the tournament. They still got a #1 seed, but as a buckeye fan, I feel cheated. That is a slap in the face and the craziest thing I have ever heard. How did this happen? What is the reasoning?

The reasoning is bc florida won it last year, they won there conference tournament too. And if I remember right Florida beat OSU by around 20, so that is why. OSU still got a one seed so you shouldnt be complaining too much.

I don't think you can shaft a team from a game that was played 3 months ago when the best player in the country was playing to about 5% of his ability.

Truth.

And I doubt any coach would play anyone at 5% of their ability. He ran into not one good big man at Florida, but two.

Yeah, Ohio State definitely seemed to get the easier bracket, playing a lot of teams that are outside of the power conferences.

Ohio State lost to North Carolina (without Oden) and to Florida (when Oden was just getting back, but Florida was battling mono or something among players [sounds like a dirty cheerleader! whistling.gif ]). They are behind them both.

Oh well, just have to let it play out.

I also don't understand OSU not getting the overall #1. But their draw is great. The Buckeyes have a good shot at Atlanta. At this point the committee had to weigh the loss at Gainesville in December. OSU's problems with Oden at the time doesn't concern the committee. Just be confident Buckeye fans that this team has a great shot at real glory. It should be an interesting tourney! Go Bucks!!!

I felt that they deserved the #1 seed overall, but I feel they may have gotten the better bracket.

I agree. We did get the easiest bracket. Okay, Florida did get the overall #1 seed over us, but why did North Carolina get the second #1 seed over us? Is it because they beat us back in early December with no Greg Oden?

OSU deserves the overall #1 seed. It should not of even been a close decision in my mind. OSU only lost 3 games all year won the Big Ten regular season and won the Big Ten tourny. We beat the #3 team in the championship by around 15. Florida beat an unranked team by 9. Oh well, thats the way it goes sometimes.

I am glad that we aren't in the same region as North Carolina, would you like to be in the same region as Texas (Durant, in my opinion, is the best freshman in the country), Georgetown (who has Hibbert, who would match up well with Oden), or a dangerous Washington State team, that has looked shaky at times, but has still managed to go 25-7? Not to mention that this region also has USC, which looked bad against Oregon but has also looked impressive at times throughout the season, or a Boston College or a Vanderbilt? Vanderbilt has to be a sleeper team, their style of play is similar to that of Villanova's last year. If this team gets a hot shooting hand, it could be bad news for the other teams in this region.

Yes, one of the reasons North Carolina was placed over Ohio State was more than likely due to the fact that Ohio State lost to them, even without Oden. Do you remember when Cincinnati (My favorite team) had Kenyon Martin? Yes, they had a good supporting cast in Pete Mickeal, DeMarr Johnson (a diaper dandy), Kenny Satterfield, and Steve Logan, but after Martin broke his leg against DePaul in the C-USA tournament, everything fell through. Cincinnati lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. If Ohio State is as good as you believe, then they should be able to compete against top-notch schools with or without Greg Oden. The second reason that North Carolina was a higher #1 seed is due to the weakness of the Big Ten this year. Other than Wisconsin, no other teams really jump out. Purdue and Illinois were lucky to even make the field of 65, taking away spots from Mid-Majors such as Drexel. These two factors are in my opinion why they were seeded a lower one seed than North Carolina.

105.

Perhaps Florida got the #1 overall seed because the selection committee felt sorry for just how ugly and ridiculously annoying Joakim Noah is. I mean, seriously, the dude looks like someone repeatedly kicked him in the face and then pissed in his open wounds. He has GOT to be the ugliest dude playing college basketball today!!! Looks like a really ugly chick who needs to have some serious dental work done. I would not mind if he just disappeared from the TV cameras for all eternity soon.

i wouldnt say that osu has the easiest region...
their region contains 4 teams in the top 10!
i would say thats fairly strong even if a few of them arent from the major conferences...

I am glad Florida got the overall #1. They were trying the play the "we don't get any respect" card since people were dogging on them for a couple weeks.

Florida is the most feared team in my opinion in this tournament.
