Dwade!! now that he is hurt I will have to go with Kobe Bryant with LeBron James close behind....I would also consider Dwight Howard.....as far as team player and MVP would go to Nash just because of what he brings to the table to his team....

Kobe is by far the best player in the NBA. The things he can do with the basketball is amazing. Lebron is good also, but he has to work on his defensive game before he can consider himslef in the same league as Kobe.

Kobe is regarded as one of the best defenders in the NBA! Just because you dont like doesnt mean he isnt a good defender tiger. ANY analyst or espn guy would tell you this.

Yeah, against the Boston Celtics. He is averaging 1.5 on the year.

Steal leaders:
1. Ron Artest 2.23
2. Shawn Marion 2.16
3. Caron Butler 2.15
4. D-Wade 2.09
5. Baron Davis 2.05

16. Kobe Bryant 1.46

I know defense isn't all about steals but you were bragging about Kobe getting 5 against the Celtics.

I don't really know who is the "best". It all depends on what you're looking for. If you want which player is the best for his team. Then easily it is Steve Nash or Dirk or even Kobe. I'd say a player like Jason Kidd though. He has 14.3 points a game, 8.1 rebounds, 8.9 assists, 1.63 steals a game. Pretty much, he is almost averaging a triple-double and has done it all his career.

That would've been a great backcourt combo. From what I understand though, the Nets wanted Bynum and the Lakers weren't giving him up.

i would agree kobe being first then lebron only because lebron isnt doing well at all when it comes to FT the cavs is the last in the league in FT% i believe....and lebrons defense is no where nears kobe as well...

my favorite player to watch is dirk. he is one of the best shooters in the game. but if it goes in terms of who is most needed for their team....it is steve nash hands down. just look at the suns record when he isnt playing.....it shows how truly valuable he is.

and kobe is a great defender....i have never thought much of him though until this year....he has done better getting the rest of his teammates involved in my opinion. but i dont think that he will win an award like MVP because of that sexual assault incident.

i hope nash doesnt win MVP again because i dont think he is "great" enough to complete a task (win MVP in three consecutive years) that has only been done by three all-time greats

Wilt Chamberlin
Bill Russell
Larry Bird

I just dont think nash is good enough to be added to this list
