How long does each camp last, 6-8 hours? It's a "camp week" for those three sports, rather than each taking 3-4 days of their own in separate weeks?
Back to Ottoville basketball. Since 1954 (lost to DSJ in regional finals). Ottoville has only been to the state once when Phil M. was the coach, in fact I do not think Ottoville has been to the regionals since then. As far as them running to the state in the next 4 years, who knows, maybe. Let's give the coach and the players some leeway here. Ottoville critics have always been there, and always will. So let's move on.
This topic will be as long as Dick K. discussion a few years ago. Only MC in 50, Kalida in 81 FJ in 2000, and OG have won state championships in the history of Putnam County. It is very, very difficult to win as you all know. AS far as baseball Ottoville has never really been that good, as far as moving past the district. You guys need to consult Dan Kern's history of PCL sports, great info. Have a great weekend. Out...

You missed the word YOUTH. It's a 3 day 3 hour boys youth camp for Grove kids in grades 3-8. The varsity coaches teach fundamentals and interact with the younger kids. I find it interesting that the CG baseball staff didn't participate in this.

Here's the link if you want to sign up (donate).

2005. Got beat by Continental who then lost to Columbus Afrocentric in state finals. Columbus Afrocentric then got stripped of its Championship for cheating

Off topic. But Ottoville can have him back. It's baseball nobody cares. That guy doesn't fit in with the rest of the Columbus Grove athletic department. In a small school what coach encourages kids to only play 1 sport. The one that came from Ottoville. Look at the CG's coaches 3 day summer youth camp (aka money grab) Day 1 football Day 2 basketball Day 3 track. What's missing.
If he doesn't fit in because he has the highest winning percentage this year of any posted boys programs then you are correct.

And I'm sure he doesn't want kids to play other sports. That way they can sit around and play video games and snack. That way they can get out of shape.

Soon you'll be posting he beats down the kids, quits on them, texts their parents that their kids are losers, tells the junior high they are starting varsity next year, tells them to pay good money for a sweatsuit, makes them put 2 tires around their neck and run because the pitchers walked 18 batters, and finally that he told the whole team that the only scholarship they will ever get is the scholarship that involves drinking and doing drugs.

I hate this argument. This situation isn't related to HS sports. Those coaches, managers, and GMs are dealing with professional athletes. HS coaches are dealing with kids who will more than likely never play sports after they graduate high school

1. Do you cut your kid cause he don't want to pay $200 for some sweatsuit.
2. Do you put a tire around someone's neck and make them run until exhaustion because he won't pass 18 times.
3. Do you tell junior high kids that they are gonna start immediately on varsity.
4. But it's all the parents and worthless beer guzzling soft undisciplined kids.
1. You sure about that point? I'm just checking.
2. Call the police on the tire issue. That's against the law. I hope you're not afraid of getting busted for filling a false police report. If not please do it!!!!!!!
3. This tells me that you, or your son, is afraid that a freshman on next seasons team is going to take their place. You, or your son, must not have the athleticism that you think.
4. Unfortunately that's what some prople think. I never got into a discussion about how much beer the kids can drink but most people I know from Ottoville say the kids are soft and don't want to put the time in. Maybe with a new coach that will change.

Hey General, what ever happened to the coach at Conti in the 90's. I think he replaced Huber and the Homier clan ran him out! Is he still around. I remember he had really young kids. Any of them turn out to be players?

Hayes, who is Eric Maag? I assume he is from Leipsic or possibly Grove. Thanks

He is/ was JV coach at Grove. coached the varsity last year when Ryan STechschulte had to take a leave of absence. Eric was a heck of a point guard for the CG team that went to the state finals back in 2006.

Eh, ya i remember that season as most of Ottoville probably does. The most recent shot the boys had at going to state until their point guard went down with a season ending injury.
No object is mysterious. The mystery is your eye.
