Sterio......
My friend....we at DSJ went through this twice and trust me, many people had no clue about what was going on.....I mean, they went to games and the discipline of the players was horrible.......it all is a reflection.....first on the school, then the parents, a finally on the community......listen my little buddy.....I could care less if you as a community cannot figure it out, but I would like to see Otown become competitive in hs basketball.....believe it or not, but it will bring your community together

Like I said earlier, I have no dog in this fight so to speak, but O'town is only 8 miles north of Delphos and I know many people that would love to see Ottoville make a resurgence and be respectable again.......tell the parents to work their jobs and quit trying to coach their sons when they arrive home after a loss or a grueling practice.....I don't give a crap how much I would have complained that things were not going good at practice or whatever.......bottom line was my parents absolutely never took my side....answer was always....toughen up the coach knows more than you,.I think that Ottoville as a community is pretty much split on the coaching issue...Interested, Outspoken, and BigGreen all have opinions similar to mine........not saying that those opinions are right, but discipline is necessary for high school players in today's sports......give in to the players and Ottoville's athletes will remain soft......toughen up and they may make a run at state.......key words are toughen up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The numbers of kids is down not just in basketball but in every sport and in the classroom. There was no acme baseball team last year a few younger kids even had to play in Delphos. The current freshman girls only have 2 or3 girls playing basketball and the current 7th grade only has 3 girls involved is basketball. The senior class has less then 15 kids actually in ottoville school due to kids going to vantage and next year the junior class has many kids going to vantage also.
So when numbers are low with kids in sports kids start to realize that they are someone at an advantage to the coaches because the coach needs them to play. In turn this leads to coaches having to deal
With kids not showing respect for authority.
This goes for all boys sports but because basketball draws the biggest crowds and most support it is very much critiqued more.
Not saying the coach was perfect but I do believe he was a good coach and put the time and effort into the system from grade school on up to get ottoville back to a tradition of kids actually working hard and wanting to play especially younger kids.

I hate this argument. This situation isn't related to HS sports. Those coaches, managers, and GMs are dealing with professional athletes. HS coaches are dealing with kids who will more than likely never play sports after they graduate high school

Off topic. But Ottoville can have him back. It's baseball nobody cares. That guy doesn't fit in with the rest of the Columbus Grove athletic department. In a small school what coach encourages kids to only play 1 sport. The one that came from Ottoville. Look at the CG's coaches 3 day summer youth camp (aka money grab) Day 1 football Day 2 basketball Day 3 track. What's missing.
