I don't personally know any past players so why don't you just tell us? If it's going to get out anyways, you might as well be the one to break the news, Stud.

Completely agree. HS Sports are more than winning and losing. It's learning about discipline and teamwork.

I'm gonna sound the a typical old guy here and say this... these kids are gonna struggle when they go out into the real world.

It's high school basketball and it's OTTOVILLE!!

Let's take a step back. Yes they have tradition, L.W. Heckman, Dick Kortokrax, etc, but what have the Big Green really ever done in boys basketball? It's not a top coaching job compared to places like OG, Archbold, LCC, Wayne Trace or Crestview!!!

At the end of the day, there are not people lined up out the front door to the edge of 224 and 66 to apply for this highly sought after position. Who would really want this job?? The girls job there is better than the boys job!

1. He did not push any kid in locker room. He threw a temper tantrum. Kicking and acting very immature! A player said to TT what all the other players were thinking. This kid came back out to finish the game but sat the bench. He left after the game, grabbed his stuff and just left. TT was going to suspend him from practice and the next game for how he spoke to the coach. Which the way both the coach and player acted was wrong! But these kids learned this behavior from the one and only TT! TT called a practice the next day which was unplanned. The student that got into with TT had made plans already to be out of town. At this point the student said I do not have to put up with this only couple of games left and he quit. He did apologize to the coach and his teammates. TT NEVER APPOLOGIZED! He does no wrong!
2. He has been caught in many, many, many lies!
You tube Todd Turnwald and listen to how how he can lay it on!! From what I have been told what he says in this video is the exact opposites of what he told parents and players why he resigned from his family business! Why did he resign, for his new job or to coach basketball! Depends on who he is talking to!
3. There are text messages that have been shown to the administration that TT has sent to players and now parents that are not appropriate as a person in is position should be sent! The proof is in the pudding there!! No denying!
4. The petition was started by his brother-in-law. Will let that one alone concerning the brother-in-law.
5. When you look up mental abuse by a coach, unfortunately TT name should be listed!
So it's not the cry baby parents or players!! Again until you have played for TT or had a kid play don't assume or speculate!!
AND WE DO HAVE BOYS TALENT!! 99% of games played the last 2 years we have been right in it. Only getting beat by less than double digits! Kids can't play right when they are so worried about how the coach is going to handle himself and what he is going to say and text!

Mental abuse goes on everyday in our society....not saying it is right, but we all must deal with it.....this type of so called abuse was common back in my day.....I can remember practices where players vomited running line drills and the coach was highly respected.......it made us tougher and we won ball games.....occasionally a player would quit, but most toughened up and created a mental toughness that carried them through some very tough situations on the floor and through life......I guess it depends on what you want........do you want mentally tough players who can respond to tough situations when game time comes around....and when they become adults will relish a tough assignment in life.............or do you want players who continue the trend that is currently going on.....in other words the wussification of America!!!!!!!!!!

I might also add that if you were in 99 per cent of your games the past 2 seasons then it appears that the kids are buying into Todd's program, therefore why do you need a new coach......so many questions and very few answers!!!!

Oh no! I have played high school sports and college and have never experienced or even heard any of this type of treatment!!

AGAIN IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED FOR TT OR HAD A CHILD YOU DO NOT AND WONT UNDERSTAND!!

His lies are unbelievable!! His mind games are unbelievable! Coaches deserve respect and so do players! These are kids...KIDS AND they are sacrificing a lot.

These kids have no issues in the classroom or with the coaches from the other sports they play!! Several play AAU ball & the locos. One kid played for Quincy Simpson. They are respected by other coaches and teachers. That right there says a lot!

Oh, one kid played for Quincy Simpson. Yea how much did that cost him. That makes him a D1 prospect. Yea, right. One more kid's future NBA career spoiled by a high school coach. Get in line. So much talent ruined by high school coaches. Ottoville, Continental. Schools loaded with great talent just waiting for the right coach to get them to the promised land. We all feel so sorry for you!! Yep!!!

This is so typical. You have all these AAU coaches telling parents how special their kids are. If they come play for them they will get them to the next level. They will list all their past players that have received scholarships. As if it was them that made that possible. They will suck up to the parents. Make promises. Take their money.(thousands over a 4 or 5 year period) then when then when it becomes obvious the kid can't play they blame the high school coaches! Been at this a long time and seen this first hand. You don't have to believe me. Don't care! Take your blinders off and really think about it. Some of you parents that have been victimized by this process stop and really think on who really is to blame!!

Politics, thanks for the write-up. I'm not being mean but here's some more proof that's in the pudding. Your Boys Soccer team had a winning percentage of .167 and I was told that Paulding got its first win in the history of its program against you guys. That's not a typo. Golf had a winning percentage of .083. That's not a typo. Boys basketball had a winning percentage of .409 and I might add that that's the highest of all your boys teams. Baseball has a winning percentage of .000. That's not a typo. I was told that Cross County and Track had a team winning percentage that was somewhere between Golf and Soccer. That's not a typo.

Politics, you must be one of those delusional parents. We have a lot of those in Continental also. Your boys programs are bad right now and have been bad for a while. Please accept it. The good news is I know there's some talent coming up and some of those percentages should change.

Maybe TT needed to go. I don't know. I don't have a son that played for him and I don't know him.

P.S. Your boys basketball team will not make it to State next year. I hope your not thinking that you have the talent to do that.

And so the Graveyard continues.......who in their right mind would want to coach at this school.........one thing for sure....if you don't have that mental toughness today in high school sports you will never win.....I don't care how much talent you have...you must learn how to win before you can win, and I don't see this happening in O'town.....what a shame.....good luck to the next coach and be sure not to raise your voice or show any negative response......who knows, maybe a player or two will breakdown and cry....heaven forbid!!!!!!

Easy now BBstud, lets remain calm, flounder is a great guy. Is the young man who teaches at Ottoville, but coaches at FJ the new coach? I think he played at Grove several years ago. I have not heard from anyone from Otown give any names yet. Good luck who ever it is. Not an easy place to coach at, but there always is hope. Happy Easter everyone, I will pray for all involved tomorrow at Mass.

I am sorry to have offended you, but from what I have witnessed going on in today's sports.....most kids are soft.....and so be it....but that is not the way I was raised......you talk about abuse...I can firmly say that verbal abuse was pretty common during my era of high school sports....and you know what....it did not hurt me and I will praise my coaches everyday for not only preparing me for the sports in my life, but also the lessons that prepared me for life......DISCIPLINE........that is what it taught me.....tell you what stud....ask Von....a Ottoville grad and former player if he went through it.....I bet his answer will surprise you.......on a sidenote...you may not want to meet me in a alley....but, we could probably meet at Danes for a few drinks....only if Von is invited!!!!!!!
