Defiance and OG for the right to move on to the regional.

I think Defiance will win this. I wouldn't sleep on Upper though. They haven't played the schedule of other teams, but I will not be surprised if they win the first one.

The Rams may be able to beat O-G, but if Defiance beats Elida which I think will happen, the Dawgs will be too strong defensively for the Rams. Defiance likes to lengthen the floor defensively to stop 3 point shooting which Upper thrives on and they are strong inside defensively to limit the Rams interior offense. For a team like Upper Sandusky to beat 3 WBL teams to get to the regionals; thats not gonna happen. Quite frankly they are gonna have their hands full with O-G with the Titans not being a slouch either. More then likely Defiance wins this district, defense wins ballgames and they have it.

Defiance/OG for the district title, and I'm calling that one a toss up. I like all the respect my Dogs are getting going into the tournament, but frankly we didn't really play all that well towards the end of the season. We're far from the odds on favorite everyone seems to think right now.

I do think we win the district, but we'll have our hands full with EITHER OG or US.

Upper's schedule, looks like no Div1 & only 2 Div2 schools all the rest Div 3 & 4 so it seems like OG should come out ahead based on that. OG's 3 point defense is almost non existent though so that could be a factor if Upper shoots well. OG's 3 point & foul shooting are very erratic & you never know what you will get. If OG can hit their 3's & foul shots they probably win & get Defiance for an all WBL final.

I'll say it again, Defiance is a lot better team at home than away from home. It has a lot less margin for error than last year. There will be no more easy wins however long the season lasts.

OG defeats previously undefeated Upper Sandusky 79-64 in a game that was much more hotly contested than the final score. Great crowd, great game.......both teams shot well over 50% and neither team turned the ball over much. One of the better HS basketball games I have seen in years. Jordan verhoff went for 27 points and Kordell Stover had 18.

Just as most expected, Defiance/O-G round 2 for a trip to regionals. As Teddy pointed out, Defiance is MUCH better at home than away/neutral, so throw out the first meeting.

This one should be interesting.

Ugly 47-30 win for Defiance over Elida, I felt like both teams looked mediocre-to-bad. Defiance needs to work harder on the boards but only having one turnover all game outside of two charge calls was a bright spot. Elida shot the ball poorly and Defiance pulled away in the 4th quarter. Disappointing crowd too, hopefully it's only because of it being a weeknight late game. I saw the last three quarters of the O-G game and the place was almost jam-packed. You don't see many 79-64 games anymore.

Another barn burner between Upper and OG. Maybe OG and Upper could schedule each other in the regular season......typically very good teams that bring great crowds. Would be much better than some of the games OG (and Upper) are currently playing.

I didn't get to catch much of the Defiance/Elida game last night even on the radio, but the part I DID hear they made it sound like Singleton was favoring the shoulder again? Anyone who was at the game know anything about that and if it's something we should be concerned with Saturday and beyond assuming we can find a way to win?

The first team to reach 40 will win the Defiance O-G game. Low scoring, points at a premium, two teams that are hard working blue collar teams. I really hope the Titans win not because of the first game that they played so poorly, it is because beating Defiance is beating a team whose coach I think is one of the best in Ohio bar none. Kirk Lehman will no doubt have his team ready and will not use any excuse ( Singletons shoulder injury, Fredricks illness of mono or Noah Strausbaugh car accident) not to. This game will be a dandy and when it is over these two schools will still have the tremendous amount of respect for each other. The two best teams in the WBL going toe to toe with the winner going to the regionals you can't get any better than that.

Agreed on the possible addition of Upper Sandusky to the schedule.........but by my records, the two schools have only met once in the past 40 years before last night, an 89-82 win by OG back in 1988.

Dang...Dakota Green knows everything that is going on off the court with the Defiance players...LOL. I didn't notice Singleton acting in any manner with his shoulder and I don't recall them saying anything on the radio postgame either. He only had 10 points but did have 9 rebounds. Frederick is supposed to be out again...I don't know, maybe if it's late in the game and there's foul trouble and it's close he could play for a minute?

OG and Defiance have met one other time in the tourney with the Titans winning the '03 district final at Anderson Arena. But I'm pretty sure a Lehman-led Rossford team beat OG in a district final at BG in the late 90's. Titans are playing in the district final for the 9th straight year, going 6-2 in the previous 8.

That was a bad Defiance team that won a weak sectional. It was the district semi though, O-G went on to beat Elida in the final. I can remember as far back as then, people wanting the super sectionals. That was also the last game before Lehman took over the program. I was just reading about that other game against Rossford, I think O-G was #2 in the state that year. Heck, that might've been Lehman's last game at Rossford too. If not, maybe the next season.
