By now everyone has heard that Missouri QB Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended from the Tiger Football program. The details are a little sketchy right now, but there is no police report concerning any incident relating to Mr. Mauk.........I'm sure some of our Kentonites have the insider information and just need a place to respond.....

He's done there. After lackluster performances and continuing off the field problems, the guy will be kicked off the team soon. He won't play another down unless the new QB gets injured.

Continuing off the field problems? I only know of one, and that was 2 years ago........at least.

I'd back off from criticizing Maty Mauk given the condition his father is in right now. I can't imagine what he's going through off the field.

Doesn't excuse anything

We don't know what it is, but just because your dad is in poor health doesn't excuse you from doing stupid things.

Maty is now what? 20-21 years old? He's old enough to know right from wrong.

Pinkel is a very good man and a very forgiving man. If he's suspended indefinitely it has to be something severe.

It is very sad regarding his father......but, I would agree... its no excuse. While I would tend to point out that "life" is bigger than "football"..... I would at the same time agree 100% with your post GuiltyB.

I "heard" he missed a Monday team meeting because he was with his family while his father was being operated on. What "stupid thing" was there?

I'd almost guarantee a kid isn't going to be suspended indefinitely for missing a Monday meeting to see his ailing father. Isn't it interesting in college how these off the field issues are kept hush hush. Sports fans in general are very forgiving, it's better just to fess up what happened, apologize and move on. Look at Adrian Peterson, Alex Rodrigues and even Jamieus Winston??

Absolutely zero chance this is true. Players don't get suspended indefinitely because they were late to a team meeting. Even if he's not the golden boy there anymore, you'd at least want an experienced backup in case the new guy craps the bed. No chance this is true.

We can hear lots of things but since it's NCAA nobody will likely know the truth.

If you barely have any "Search Engine Skills", you can find out what people AT Missouri are saying, and it isn't good.

If there's anything to what's being said on the Missouri message boards, Maty likes himself some illegal substances.....and may also be a "go-to" person for obtaining them.

I've heard the same thing and it had gotten bad enough that a teammate turned him in because he was worried about Maty's welfare

That's what happens with the Kenton culture where nobody was held accountable under the Mauk regime because football trumped morals

A Bull******* statement..this has NOTHING to do from being from Kenton. You just slandered the many players who came out of Kenton and had great accomplishments in college, on and off the field.
Maty's issue is Maty's issue, not anyone else's. Sad to say but this is going on in all communities across the USA.

Sometime athletes get special treatment and are not as accountable as some other students in the school. I agree it happens everywhere, but if you look at many of the so called stars in the professional arena you will find many were given, let us say special treatment. If it wasn't for their athletic ability some would have been dropouts. I don't think it is near as bad today but it does exist. This is what I thought THE GUILTY BYSTANDER was saying. I don't think he was calling out the whole community.
