From what I've heard there is very little interest in this job. Too bad for PH, just shows how far the program has fallen.

For years I would have put money on this being Wayno's next landing spot. Disappointed that it appears I'm wrong.

Holgate never really was, either, in my opinion. I think Wayno could succeed anywhere, as I truly feel he's one of the very few coaches who can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

Wayno resigned his asst. coach position at Napoleon this week. Heard he has no interest in PH job. The girl's varsity coach, Kara Miller, also resigned at Napoleon this week. Both were highly critical of the Board and Administration in their comments to the local newspaper.

The people who are gunning for coaches (re: BOE's) crack me up, as they think the next super coach is out there chomping at the bit to fill the position. They are not. People don't care to put the time in anymore to do what it takes to compete at the highest level. Just like kids, adults are riddled with too many distractions that they don't care to invest their entire lives into the rebuilding of programs, ESPECIALLY when they are micro-managed to death.

Only napoleon would be dumb enough to have Paul Wayne and let him get away.

Oh well. Their loss. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

Did Hopewell fill their boys or girls positions? Looks like they are having open gyms per their AD.

Roger Jury. Most recently of Marion Harding, won 20 games there in 2009-10, which is the 2nd most regular season wins in Presidents history, and was only the 6th time for Harding to win double digits since 1970. He took a team, Cardington, to the D4 Final 4 in his 1st year at the helm, after leaving Old Fort, where he was the top assistant to Rick Renz (also of Lake/Fostoria).

It'll be tough sledding @ H-L though.

I believe Roger also worked at Old Fort under the very successful coach and noted sports memorabilia collector Jerry Bauer.

The Northwest info is alittle off, Wayno has 497 wins and 35 yrs. as HC. He started in 1978 and resigned in 2013. Avg of 14.2 wins a year and I believe avg of 9 loses. The keys for Wayno if he gets hired by another school as a HC, he has to get the players to buy into his style. He also needs the admin. to buy into his coaching style. He can coach, but the others tangibles have to be in place.

Have you considered that his "style" has been determined by the talent level of his players? As the great Don Meyer said talent determines how fast you play.

A friend of mine from Big Green country once said, "when our Board of Education meets it looks like an idiot convention." Whenever I see someone talking about these lovely groups I always think of that.

Always love when people run boards down but wouldn't be caught dead running themselves. After all they may have to endure the same critisisms they love to deal out to others.

Former Tinora HC & most recently Holgate asst, Rob Mahnke takes over at Fairview. I'd imagine it would be tough for the Apache's to turn down that type of resume..even if it does come with some baggage

The article states he was 115-84 (.779) at Tinora. Someone needs a math lesson.
