Is the 'insider's' resume really that impressive or only thing on it is he is an insider? Does he have any head football experience? Any league titles, etc. etc.? You can talk a 'hometown' guy up all you want but I would take an open application process and bring in the guy with the experience of being a head coach, having success. Just my opinion.

I see where your coming from WHITE , I am all for an open app process ! Do you take someone else just because they have been a head coach ? I mean if Tressel applies give him the damn job, but if it comes down to a bunch of average joes who have losing head coach experience no thanks . WHITE you ever talk to someone about a subject you feel somewhat knowledgeable on and know a minute into the conversation you are not on his level of knowledge ?

So what do you do if all the applicants have either no winning history or no head coach experience? Drop football add soccer?

Not sure, but I would have to believe if they opened to the outside they would get plenty of qualified and some pretty good applicants. Arlington I would think would be one of the more attractive jobs. All I am saying; an insider, any insider better have an impressive resume to pass up the potential of getting a quality coach. Just my opinion.

I would think Ada was considered a good gig too , they landed Nowin ! If Alge wants it great. I would love to hear the names of all the potential big time hires, I can't think of too many ! 2 from inside and the outside resumes should be coming in any day .

I never used the term potential big time hires, all I said is you would probably get some quality applicants. Also, I think Arlington is better than Ada.

From who I was talking too I think Arlington will consider ALL applicants... If the the guys on staff are the best and interview as such they'll get hired... If not, than they won't. I wouldn't want it any other way. I Like both internal applicants and my son would be in good hands with either of them.
Not sure which is dumber... An idiot or one who argues with an idiot!

For some people who might be reading too much into it ...

Kline isn't going to be the new head coach at DHS, that's Buti's as long as he wants it, WHICH IS HOW IT SHOULD BE

Kline will probably join the staff in some capacity but this was driven to spend more time at home. His family lives in Defiance, which doesn't surprise me. I retired from coaching because my kids were growing up before I got a chance to really enjoy them. It's a tough life a lot of these coaches lead.

It still wouldn't shock me if he's the next Defiance coach. It just won't be 2015.

Paulding job has officially been posted. How many coaches have the Panthers had the past 10-15 years?

From what I hear McGrain is the best choice for the job. Good luck

I am hearing Paulding has it down to 2 guys who are currently assistants elsewhere........one from OG and one from Minster, so the panthers are looking in the right places.
