Watched the replay and never saw the lane violation. Odd call in a deadball situation but didn't have a bearing on the outcome of the game. As far as the foul interpretation any time they "let them play" it works to the Titans advantage for the most part with their pressing defense but yesterday was a detriment with regards to interior play. Pretty much a wash IMO though.

I was sitting at half court and had a good view of it. After the ref told them to hold their spots and threw the ball to the shooter, Kadie took a step toward half court to let the guard at half court replace her. She broke the plain of the foul line, realized she did it and stepped back. One ref called the violation and the other ref called the time out at the same time so it was confusing.

I also thought the ref's spacing on the floor left something to be desired. They made a lot of calls on both teams with bad angles because of poor spacing. If it wasn't a state final game, I would of thought it was three JV officials doing their first 3-person crew. I thought a lot of calls were made from directly behind the play when one step either way would have given them an angle.

I may get ripped for this, but I thought the Titans got out coached.i'm not sure about leaving a girl with two fouls in the game with 5 and a half minutes left in the second quarter.especially the way the game was being called. She ended up getting her third with two minutes left in the half and then sat the beginning of the third. That's when Versailles started to open up the lead and the O-G was playing catch up the rest of the game. I also didn't think the clock was managed very well at the end of the game. I realize the Lady Titans wanted a frenzied pace but Versailles made two runs in the second half and Coach Yant never used a time out to slow them down. I looked up with a minute to go and he still had four time outs left. Twice they scored in the last minute and he didn''t use one. I realize they didn't want Versailles to set an inbounds play, but they lost 2 to 3 seconds on each bucket while Versailles was inbounding the ball. Five seconds extra is an eternity at the end of the game.

Congrats to the Lady Titans on a great game and a great season.

Ok so the lane violation wasn't on the 1st free throw but after she handed her the ball for the 2nd free throw but before the TO. That makes more sense.

Good to see OG's girls get to state for the first time. They've been overshadowed by the boys team for a long time. Didn't see the game all the way through, but there's no shame in making statements about coaching. Hey, it's a huge game for the coaching staff and they learn just like the kids. I guess it's one of those things where if the coach tends to leave players in with fouls, or rarely calls timeouts, all season, they aren't going to change in the state finals. Some coaches just like kids to stay in the flow of the game without all the time outs. You wonder if the college games are "overcoached" by many. Too many breaks. Anyway, congrats to the lady Titans. Great season.

And there was talk about moving the girls finals to a smaller, more appropriate venue on the boys thread? Good luck with that.

You need to remember that the OHSAA are a bunch of idiots. Anyone want to debate that? How many years of experience did each of the officials have? I remember being at a championship game a couple of years back and one of the lady officials had a whopping 5 years of experience. Like I said the OHSAA are a bunch of idiots.

Man the OHSAA outdid themselves. I hate to say it but I can't help myself, what a bunch of idiots. Must not want to hurt anyone's feelings and show they'll give anyone a chance to do a state game. Can someone sign up Dr. Dan with an account? I'd like his opinion on this if he's not in Hawaii on official business.
