Next time lefty do a better job quoting a post. Keep your response out of the other post.

And there just might be more applications than you might think.

26 on the roster. 3 were seniors. 17 play basketball or wrestle. Dosent leave a whole lot of bodies to fill a weight room.

Wrestlers lift! Most basketball players lift during the season as well. Excuses is the problem.

And as we can see by the posts on here, lots of different directions. Many want the house built so you can just walk in an enjoy. You have to pitch in and help build the house. Kids, parents, community doesn't want that. If you're in 5th/ 6th grade, doesn't matter who the varsity coach is, you're 4-5 years away from being there anyway. Build it one class at a time, doing what they individually can to do be better football players. Things will take care of itself when you get to high school that way. I never played sports in high school because of who the coach was. You play because YOU want to.

Hiring a coach that is dedicated and committed to the kids, the school, and the community would help solve the problem of low numbers of students participating. Of course a good dose of parental guidance and positive involvement towards the kids is also needed. You also need the athletes who change schools for selfish reasons, to stay. Those kids and their parents need to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

FWIW, It really doesn't matter if the old coach can be found in the weight room or not. You just have to know that you won't find him on the football field at C-R next fall. Maybe 1 or 2 kids in the weight room? If I was a current player, I certainly would not be there when he is there....especially when he lied to me.

Does PG play AT Cory next season? If so, you may see Westanbarger on the field at CR next fall....

Yes we are well aware that this is where he is headed... even though he told the CR kids in their meeting he wouldn't be coaching anywhere. They will be at PG

Ahhh how cute.... poor little fella can't defend him self so he resorts to "name calling" and name dropping to repost....

No I won't ask because I would have to care what it is before I would ask. And I haven't cared what his opinion was/ is for well over 20 years. And even before that, what I thought of it was minimal!

So you have a dislike for CR good for you.
Nobody here (CR) has denied we are in a tough spot. No different than any other schools from time to time... I'm sure no one at LB would have liked to live the Moby Meyer years here on the RC. Or Arlington and the Bob Olwin 90's.

FWIW Olwin was a 1 year deal lol. I know what your saying HH and I agree . I go to enough CR events to say that there is a different attitude toward sports at CR than what I am accustomed to seeing .

I guess the former coach didn't get the memo.

Saying one thing and doing another would be par for the course. Maybe he should coach golf.

Only if Vanlue, Arcadia, and PG do too. Join forces with HN, USV, Perry, & W-G and form their own league. C-R dosen't need to be making multiple trips to Sidney, Ft. Loramie, Degraff a year. Besides a smaller size league would give Arlington, Riverdale, and maybe McComb a home when they fall to the same fate.

Arlington athletics seem to be doing just fine Robert . Arlington and McComb would be villainized in this imaginary league for winning too often, it would never work lol.
