More trouble in OG land with parents and playing time at the pity parties, Should I name names, please way in people, should I name names? My sources want me to go public with this????
Name em or shut the h*ll up!!!! I get sick and tired of dorks like you who come on these websites to b@tch about stuff which is mostly a bunch of garbage. This team is positioned to possibly make another deep tournament run and they do not need crap like you spewing hateful venom about various players or parents or Coach McGlaughlin, his staff or whoever else that is involved with the athletic programs. Do all of us Titan fans a favor and just stay home for the rest of the season and find another hobby like knitting shawls with a bunch of old ladies who like to p$ss and moan about every other person who they are jealous of. More then likely you are some old f*rt who should be in bed by 8 at night anyhow.

Wow!!! Just heard from someone who was at OG - BATH game last week. JV second consecutive undefeated season, freshmen won WBL with undefeated season, and both Glandorf 7th and 8th Grade boys won WBL championships with undefeated seasons.
Future looks quite bright if the parents let the coaches do their jobs.

Having success throughout all levels is a trait of a good program that has a strong foundation. OG with their current coaches will have consistent success for a long time along with the occasional deep tournament run if not more often. Anyone who's been on a team who's had a deep run knows it's not easy and everything is earned.

I will caution though, a kid who's really good in the 7th grade isn't always the kid who's really good as a junior or senior. I honestly think this is where parent problems start. "Little johnny was the best player on the freshman team. Why does he not get as much JV time?" Simple answer is he's playing with Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors now on the JV team instead of just freshman.

Varsity level sports is a whole other ball game compared to any other level. "My son was the leading scorer on the JV team his junior year, now he's sitting the bench as a senior?" That's life. Some other kid his age or younger is better than him. If he's such a stud, he would be on the floor. Varsity is a combination of all grade levels, not just one.

Excellent post Milt 73. Kids also develop their skills at different ages. The future depends on how hard these young players work and buy into the system. Having a player who respects the game, coaching staff, opponents, and officials is more likely to succeed in life than always putting the blame of their shortcomings on that of others.

Wow RM, 2 years removed from a state championship and 1 year from a regional final and the state of OG basketball is in turmoil! The Titans have always played a tough schedule and get every teams best effort every night. Hence the close wins and tough losses vs team the Titans should win easily. Remember back in the day when OG would go unbeaten, or 1 -2 losses, in regular season and make an early tournament lose? I'm sure most fans would take the deep tourney run over the season accolades. OG plays for the post season. A loss here or there does not warrant too much concern at this point. Doesn't matter if the district is the best or not...a solid tournament run is what is remembered. Case in point; last years 10 loss team made a great run beating some very good teams along the way to regional finals..TyMac knows what he is doing......to sum it up.....OG will be there in the end...again!!
Just sheerly out of curiosity, Winston, who were the "very good teams" we beat to get to LCC last year? I do agree, however, that Titan fans will most assuredly take our current setup where no matter what kind of reg season we have, life in D3 is much better than having 1 loss & getting bumped in districts by St Hank, Wayne Trace, Coldwater, LCC back in the old days. If we're D2 the last few years, we don't make it to regionals at all. A few years ago, life in D2 was good when we avoided Archbold, Wayne Trace, St Hank, etc, & only had to beat Mr Adams & Froelich to make it out of D2, so our timing on our kid-population has also been good the last 15 to 20 years lol !

Please name me a good team that OG has beaten this year?.....you will probably say LB, but really?...they got beat by every team they were supposed (and some not) and beat the ones they should...Wed. night will end their season. Not a bad thing as LCC will probably defend their D3 title....it's been a true stroke of genius or good luck that they've gone "up north" like Woody used to say.. ...

VA/SJ will win D3 not LCC. LCC-OG thing has been entertaining the past few years though for sure. I just don't see either of these teams beating Carlton Bragg and the Vikings though.....we'll see

Pointing out what division we're in is useless. We are in the division that we are supposed to be in just like everyone else is. Would we struggle more in a different division, I don't know, I don't really care either, we're D3, we've competed at a high level in D2 as well in the past. Looking forward to playing LCC on Wednesday, it's a great rivalry for both schools and always fun to watch.

Now Perrysburg THIS year, that one I agree on. Last year & this year Archbold has been really down compared to where they've been. Huron was an average team with a really good record because of lack of strong competition on their schedule

That's what everybody was saying last year also, Outspoken one, & we know how that turned out. The difference in talent may be large there, but VASJ has some seriously unmotivated, aka lazy defense, people on their team from what I've seen last few years. The winner of LCC/O-G will have a chance against them for that reason alone, but yes, you're correct VASJ is more talented than anybody at BG this year

Elton your right it has been luck that the Titans have went north to play the tournament instead of the 'meatgrinder' of the ONU district. However that luck has nothing to do with O-G, it all has to do with geography, birth rates of the late nineties, and the trend of small families which is more then likely not gonna change. O-G cannot help where they get assigned in the tournament. Heck Bluffton had to go north also and they are farther south then O-G. The team that in the last two years that has a real gripe in the sectional assignment is Van Wert. They geographically should have been assigned to either Defiance and or Wauseon. However that is one thing that is out of the control of the individual schools. With the count being taken again in the spring next year will bring different teams in and out of various sectionals. Next year schools like Spencerville and Wayne Trace, two that have been in D-3 in the past could go up to D-3. If you think the ONU district is tough this year it might be a real b@tch to get out of in 2016.

Wayne Trace will be D3 next year and go north, and most likely Bluffton gets sent south to the ONU district.

Yep. When WT was in D3 2/3 years ago they went up north to Defi with OG, Paulding and Tinora...of course WT went up there when OG was making state or winning it all.... :wallbash: :shrug2:
