It doesn't matter what warnecke's skill set is. He is consistently the hardest working player on the field at any given time and that's what distinguishes him. Why is grove not allowed to have a shot in this game?

That's a good post. You are 100% correct. Warnecke has made himself one of the best backs Grove has every had. Joey is the ideal small school football player. Not the fastest or biggest kiid to every play running back atGrove. But fast enough big enough and probably the most heart of any kid to run the ball for Grove. He just never gives up on anything.

Why is Grove not a allowed to have a shot? It doesn't matter what people post on here. If the kids beleive they have a shot and are not intimidated by Marion Local. Then your above post is the way Grove would pull off the upset. But pulling that upset might be the biggest upset ever.

Grove knows all to well about these miracles unfortunatly. Wasn't it mentioned that in 2001 a grove player seemed to have caught a game winning touchdown only to have it been intercepted by ml to seal the deal?

Yep, the Shawshank Interception. The defender had his back to the QB and was fortunate enough to snare the ball out of the receiver's hands before he could pull it in. He immediately dropped to his knees with his arms raised to the sky a la Andy Dufresne in the pond. I don't believe it was a rehearsed celebration :)

Thanks. You just ruined that movie for me. The next time I watch that I don't want to the reminded of that play. But I'm sure I will now.

Where have you been? Needing a scouting report.

Unlike most of the posters here, I don't live in the area, haven't seen ML in action other than 45 seconds of highlights on WOSN website, only been to 1 CG game this year. Not asking for much, just what type of offense and defense they run (I-form, 2 backs, single back formations; D-4-4, 5-2). I'm guessing they run predominately because they have a good RB; how good is the QB and WRs? Simple questions for someone who has seen them in action, I understand they are really good, experienced, and well coached, just wondering what to look for on Saturday.

Grove is too one dimensional to win. ML by 30+. Running clock.

It did not matter who won previous game, it would have been running clock for ML for every game after Fort Recovery.

Yeah, that 2400 rushing yards doesn't match up very good with the 1500 yards passing. Way too one dimensional.

Has a team ever played three straight games at the same site?

Patrick Henry played at Findlay for 3 straight weeks in 2008 beating LCC and LB then losing to ML

Actually Marion can run and pass. Excellent RB in Jacy Goettemoeller-but he is complimented by the fullback-can't remember his name and the QB Rethman can run and throw. Bruns is a big (6'-6"?) receiver or tight end. Weubker is the speedy receiver.

The thing that makes them tough though? Their defense. They get off the bus blitzing. Big and fast all over the field.I bet Grove has not seen linebackers as fast as ML's.

Has ML been at Wapak the last 2 weeks? If so I think the OHSAA has a rule about a team playing at the same venue three times in a row.
Are you just butthurt because you can't cheer for St. Johns anymore. At least Grove is still here playing unlike your joke of a football team.

No one thought Grove would still be here in the playoffs. This team is used to being an underdog. Theres a chance for this great Columbus Grove team to upset Marion Local.

What are you talking about? I was simply asking if there was a rule. You're so quick to trash St. John's but let's take a look at who's been more successful buddy

Looks like Blue(balls)Jay is public enemy number 1 for Grove fans. We get it Marion Local is good. Then again you said Arlington was good last week. Do you have any credibility left?

Shouldn't BlueJay be moderating the boys basketball forums?

As a mom to one of the seniors on this team I would like you to know he worked his tail off, as did his teammates. I would think that effort deserves some respect.

By the same token, congratulations to Grove on their success. Enjoy the experience and good luck Saturday!
