No sense in even creating a thread for this game. Just wasting space. We all know the final outcome.

Then please see yourself out and let the adults discuss it.

No one will give Grove or any other DVII team a chance against Marion Local. Let's just play the game and see how we stack up against the best. This might not be the most talented Grove team to reach state. But this team is making the CG community proud on want they have accomplished this year. Go Dogs. Keep proving people wrong (me included) on what you can accomplish.
True John.....and this time a year you only have to beat a team once.....and only by a point.

Good luck Grove!!

Practically a home game for the dogs. I expect then to give the flyers a fight they'll remember for awhile. A team with nothing to lose playing a team that has a group of seniors facing the preasure of putting together a final perfect season and getting that fourth career ring is the perfect opportunity for an upset. Being battle tested, I give grove the nod in a close one, this game just can't get out of hand early, which I don't expect to happen given grove's stingy D. If Warnecke can get going early on the ground that will definetly benefit grove as well. Putting the flyer's starters in a position where they have to play the whole game will also help the dogs. Go bulldogs!!!!! Remember 2003 when grove didn't have a chance and rode another spectacular hardworking running back to the title?

I''lll just address the last part of your post. I don't want to touch the first part. Something tells me you weren't very old in 2003, Grove probability was the favorite in 2003. Also as good as Warnecke is. He isn't even in the discussion as being as good as Blaine Maag.

ML has the best run defense in their conference by a mile. Also, you can't compare Warnecke to Maag. Maag was a once every 25 years kind of player.

It doesn't matter what warnecke's skill set is. He is consistently the hardest working player on the field at any given time and that's what distinguishes him. Why is grove not allowed to have a shot in this game?

No one said they can't have a shot. But you posting pretty ridiculous things like columbus grove being "battle tested" as if ML is not -_- And ML's starters playing the whole game would probably HURT Grove, not benefit them seeing as ML has great depth and dressed ~70 kids.

I'm not knocking ML at all, they deserve the respect they get, but judging by the scores of most of their games, coldwater and minster(still not very close)being exceptions their starters probably didn't experience the stess of playing a game that comes down to the wire, which I think grove gets its advantage, albeit it small, from. I also realize that there is a reason those games weren't close.

Coldwater game was 13-0 the entire game. ML scored with like a minute away to seal it. And like you said, there's a reason the games weren't close. ML is actually known for pulling miracles out of nowhere to clinch close games.

They're allowed, it would just be a monumental upset to say the least.

ML shut out Coldwater who will probably win D5. They've won 7 state titles since 2000. They haven't lost a game since 2012 and haven't lost in the postseason since 2010. They have also outscored their opponents 222-7 (garbage time TD) in their last 5 games. The question isn't will ML win D7, it's more like which division couldn't they win?

Grove knows all to well about these miracles unfortunatly. Wasn't it mentioned that in 2001 a grove player seemed to have caught a game winning touchdown only to have it been intercepted by ml to seal the deal?

7, soon to be 8, titles in 15 years. Absolutely insane. Best football program in the state.
