Could it happen? Maybe. Will it happen? Doubtful.

And I'm curious as to why you 'can't wait' for it to happen? Why would you want to see a blowout like that?

I wanna see it too and I'm guessing for the same reason.
The whole competitive balance deal seemed to coincide with the beatdown DSJ gave Shadyshide....

So then out came the private school haters even though everyone around here knew any one of about 5 MAC schools would have pounded that school just the same.

I wanna see a public MAC school hang a hundy on em....

FlightCrew........

Exactly......paperboy...please read FlightCrew's post because it is right on.......as soon as the Jays kicked Shadyside around and proved that they did not belong in the state finals, Shadyside came out and started crying the blues.....that is why no one respects their program........they did it to themselves......they are who we think they are........I hope the Flyers hang a 100 on them......I mean..c'mon...public versus privates......competitive balance....give my son a fair chance....welcome to America.....sheeeeeeesh!!!!!

Now, let the bashing begin

In my opinion no private school should ever be placed in the smallest division without a special exemption from the OHSAA.

Why? DSJ, Fremont St. Joe, Calvert, etc. all have the same advantages as schools Arlington, Marion Local, etc. DSJ went 4-6 in the regular season and got bounced 28-0 in the first round of the playoffs. Why should they have some special rule enforced upon them when they're doing nothing wrong? You must be one of the idiots who is still convinced tiny schools like DSJ recruits.

You're right. Schools like Fostoria St. Wendelin, 0-10; Fremont St. Joe, 2-8; Oregon Cardinal Strich 4-6; DSJ 4-6; Cincinnati Christian 0-10; Springfield CC 0-10; Lancaster Fairfield Christian Academy 1-9; Zanesville Rosecrans 2-8; Lancaster Fisher Catholic 2-8; Portsmouth Notre Dame 2-8; Ashtabula St. John 0-7; Warren JFK 2-8; Youngstown Christian 1-9; Elyria Open Door 3-7; Cleveland Hts Lutheran East 4-5; Garfield Hts Trinity 2-8 should be required to play at least in Div V or higher. So I am an idiot for having a opinion? Just because DSJ dose nothing against the rules doesn't mean it is fair. Name calling is never going to win arguments. DSJ has a long history of families choosing to attend DSJ from multiple surrounding school districts for various reasons, including a lot of convincing and at the urging of DSJ alumni and other supporters. That by definition is "recruiting." Lots of schools go 4-7 so what.

As long as divisions are set up by number of bodies walking the hallways, you will never get a fair cross sample of student athletes. A private school with 70 boys or girls is never going to be the same as a public school with 70 boys or girls. They will be different in every possible demographic.

You clearly know nothing about DSJ judging by your first paragraph. DSJ's arguable best team ever (2010) only had 1 player on the entire team that hadn't attended DSJ since Kindergarten..and his dad was a DSJ graduate who was in the military and stationed in Hawaii. We must have the best recruiting crew in history if we can get them that young. My bad about calling you an idiot, though. The proper wording is completely uneducated or misinformed.

Look at Marion Local. They are a public school (with predominantly catholic students as well). They are about to be be four time defending state champions. Look at all the schools in the MAC for examples of that. Take a look at schools like Leipsic, Ada, etc. who seem to make the playoffs every year and have competed with the big bad private schools in the past. Your argument is extremely flawed and you are making 0 sense.

Nah, 'Shadyside' didn't start crying the blues, though maybe a few of it's fans did. 'Shadyside' is a school made up of a bunch of kids, and I guess I don't get why those kids should be subjected to an epic beatdown simply because a few supposed adults are butthurt about some message board comments made four years ago.

It's a moot point, though, because coach Goodwin has way more good sense than the Internet Tough Guys on here who want to see a bunch of teenagers humiliated.

Shadyside's coaches blamed recruiting in one of their local papers.

RocketteBoy just doesn't get it...again. I'd never want this place abolished...too much good comedy! And I don't trash the RC, just its self-important, rabbit-eared leader!

I know more then you think. I grew up in Van Wert and ran around with a bunch of kids from Delphos. My neighbor went to St Johns as a lot of families did who live in VAN WERT, Spencerville, Ottoville, Elida and lots of other little communities around Delphos.

DSJ's arguable best team ever (2010) only had 1 player on the entire team that hadn't attended DSJ since Kindergarten..

Yes I know but that has nothing to do with getting kids from multiple school districts.

And it is almost unheard of any kid to attend a school outside of their own school district in those small towns. Furthermore, publics are required to take every kid who shows up at their door regardless of weather they can pay, or are a discipline problem. Delphos St. John has no school district or boundaries.

Furthermore how do you account for Delphos Jefferson's lack of success relative to St Johns? I think we can agree to disagree.

2012: 6-4
2011: 4-6
2010: 5-5
2009: 6-4

* = years they had records BETTER than DSJ in the regular season. So much for a lack of success.

Also, I do not know of many families who live outside of the school district. One of the players on this year's DSJ team went to DSJ K-2 and then went to Ottoville until 7th grade and he transferred back.
