Offensively we still got work. Last night we got a lot of sustained drives but penalties and dropped passes hurt us. Turnovers didn't help things either. I think Lotridge's absence on offense is showing more than on D. Last night Elida was man on man vs Pitts with 10 guys close to the box daring us to throw to Pitts. With Lotridge out there, we win that matchup 9 times out of 10. Talked to a coach this week and he said every week the kids get more comfortable with the offense, with regards to the termology and new responsibilities. Hoping once the light goes on offensively, this team could be scary good. The kid I'm waiting to step up is Metz. Very talented, athletic kid but just isn't playing to his potential. Had some critical drops that prevented us from keeping drives going and scoring.
Hope the kids can keep it rolling. The potential for big things is there.
On a side note, did you see the projected wbl champs after week 1, the fightening frye's of St. Mary's were upset for the second week in a row? Rumor is the Doug Frye statue has been put on hold for now.

Seems like Morgan sees the field better when we are up tempo. Agree with you very much. Talking to parents last night, they would like to see Moyer be more critical and show more emotion. The quote was "stick a boot in their butts". I just think there is just a drastic difference in shown emotion between Frye and Moyer. We are use to yelling and screaming and Moyer always seems calm. Sense of urgency would be welcome. Go Skins!
Just a note to those who want their coach to rant and rave on the sideline. Two of the most successful coaches in Ohio, Todd Schulte of DSJ and Tim Goodwin of Marion Local, are a picture of calm on the sidelines. Always in control of themselves and their team. If they need to "raise the roof" a little, they will, but they don't do it 48 minutes a night.

Most of the time he is pretty calm but I'v noticed several times where he has been visibly excited and loud
A perfect demeanor for a good football coach

The lack of points has been more a result of penalties and turnovers that have killed solid drives
Schmerge was a fantastic player that was a large % of the teams overall offensive production last year
It takes some time to replace that production especially with a whole new ofensive system
Metz is a stud. We need to do a better job of getting him the ball in space and he will make big plays
There are a lot of quality skilled position players on this team if they continue to get better each day the offense as a whole will be a force
