And fortunately for Riverdale and Hopewell they haven't played a BVC game yet. Technically.
Just another head scratcher when it comes to sports.
Big Ten? 14 teams
Big 12? 10 teams
NFL? Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East.
BVC? Its a conference game but it doesn't count

Haha definitely a head scratcher for sure.... The BVC needs to take a hard look at how they set this split up (Especially for football) b/c we could have 2 conference champs, 1 who potentially goes undefeated and the other who has 3 "League" lossses and goes 6-4 or 7-3, but b/c those losses weren't in their division they still win their division.

Make some criteria for the teams and get them in a #1-12 order... 1-Record, 2-points allowed, points scored ect.
Critera will have no bearing on league champion...Only record as it has been in years past.
The top (tier) 9 teams will play each other the following year.
The bottom (tier) 3 teams will play each other with the #12 team playing #4-9 in the top tier.
#11 team will play #3-8 in the top tier in addition to the other 2 bottom tier teams and
#10 team will play #1-7 in the top tier and the bottom tier teams.
Make this adjustment every year. Home and away should be able to be worked out. If it is an issue I'd say let the top tier team have the home game.
A tweek that could me made (or not) is that the only teams that can go to the bottom tier are the Div. VII schools. This is so the top tier teams have the best chance to make the post season by playing the bigger schools.

Even having divisions is not awful. You can leave it as is, while constantly reorganizing the divisions. All they need to do is make ALL conference games matter, not just divisional ones. Even though the top teams in opposite divisions don't play the same opponents, they still play all the best teams. It is highly unlikely that a team would lose out on a title by losing to a bottom team.
The end result is one champion, with the top teams still avoid playing a few bottom teams.

Using the championship game premise though, why not play one less crossover game, and play a championship game week 10. Make all the games count. Top team in the Blanchard and top team in the Valley play each other. Play it at Donnell. The rest of the games, 2 plays 2, 3 plays 3 and so on. One year the Blanchard division is designated the home team and host, the next year it would be the Valley hosting. It would get two probable play-off teams an early chance to play on the turf. You may have some rematches, but it's no different that the play-offs and you get a true league champion.

If someone can design something that accomplishes this, I think all will be happy and I will sign my name to it; even though my signature means nothing

Only hard-cores remember the years other teams win the league after a few years.
With no league divisions there is only 1 Champ. We are already diluted enough with 7 playoff divisions etc.
This was already mentioned but worth repeating:
VB could win their division, get beat by Arlington and LB and call themselves a BVC Division champ. That would be a joke!
If that happed we may see change sooner than later.
