It's not my issue, the post had nothing to do with HN we had our day in the conference it's everything about the Eagles. I don't have any axe to grind just read this $&@! on here and wonder how you can expect playoff success when you play in a league that doesn't benefit your Eagles come Week 11.Playmaker go watch a game other than the blowouts you see/play every week.

What league exactly do you expect LB to play in that's realistic in the area that doesn't involve travel that's unrealistic for a budget? Your comments are totally ignorant and you obviously have no clue. Yes, LB plays in a tough region and some of the schools don't prepare them for that level of play, but unless LB played an independent schedule you have zero room to complain. They scheduled Wynford and BG this year which are 2 very respectable non conference games.

This is a good point Panther. A lot of other conferences have a similar make up to their conferences in relationship to divisions. Below reflects a few conferences in the area and the teams divisions within the leagues, for instance the BVC is made up of D7, D6 and D5 schools. Others are:

NWOAL D4, D5, D6
WBL D3, D4, D5
MAC D5, D6, D7
NWC D5, D6, D7
N10AC D5, D6, D7
NBC D4, D5, D6

I think these are all correct......Long story short, 3 division conferences are more the norm than the exception.

Good post Tiger, multi division leagues are the norm. But never hear much complaining from other leagues crying boo hoo. What is interesting the only teams that typically complain about LB are the ones that can't beat them.

Looking at the region your Eagles are in what do you gain by constantly beating d 6 &7 schools when your in a region with Huron, O-G, Coldwater, Creston Norwayne all of teams which I' ve seen play multiple times and your not even on the same planet as those programs. Honest question?

Don't know much about the split divisions in the bvc but it appears they got better by getting rid of Harden Northern (and keeping Liberty Benton). Bringing in Hopewell was a good move too. Looks like from other posts that LB did beef up there schedule by scheduling Wyndford and Bowling Green.

Would like to see a OG/LB series in the future both in football and basketball.

One reason you don't here much from the other conferences is that the smaller schools have faired well. DSJ in the MAC, PH in the NWOAL, Wynford in the N10AC, etc... Just like McComb, Arlington and Leipsic and a few other BVC schools......they strap on their big boy pants and go out and kick butt. To use your vernacular (LOL!) they don't boo hoo hoo like some folks, they work hard to get better!

Just out of curiosity, when these conferences were formed, was there much difference in the schools sizes then. If I correct, when the BVC was formed, all of the schools were about the same size. It's just that over the last 50 years that some have seen great growth (LB & VB), some haven't grown at all (Vanlue) and most have see moderate growth.

I'm also curious, have those other conferences seen the stability in member schools that are part of them over the years. Until the last couple of years, the BVC hasn't had a revolving door of members.

I'll agree with this. Except that according to LB's 5yr financial forecast, they can afford to travel further for better competition.

Always ignorance when you don't see it the way Goliath does. Your the fool 3rd and long your post proves it ya we play in a tough region, but some of conference opponents don't prepare us, good lord. Then you act like what conference are we suppose to play in? It's called the Northwest Conference, but I'd hate for you to leave Hancock county... The other conferences listed in the previous post have more parody in them than the BVC by far is why you don't hear them complain. My point will be proved in a couple hours when the finals come rolling in.

Casual, good question. I wouldn't know the sizes of any of these schools 50 years ago. I am not from this area to begin with. Someone else may have that answer.

It really doesn't matter how the conferences were formed though, my point is that most area conferences have multiple divisions and a lot of the power teams are the smaller schools in those conferences.

But you do raise a good historical question.

That was a fantastic football game! Talk about a barn burner! Riley Adolf had a monster game for VB. Both teams played their hearts out. Was a good, clean, well officiated football game. BVC football at its finest. The Black Knights needed a signature win like this. Was very impressed with our student section and fan support. I haven't seen that many VB fans at an away game in a long time. Arlington at home next week should be a dandy. GO KNIGHTS!!

Congrates to VB.....A big key to their win was, that they gave their QB time to throw....

Pete Brunow was on the Riverdale sidelines coaching, I guess I'm behind, does he have family he's helping over there or what.

I believe he is listed as an assistant coach in the Courier Preview.

While the gates that the larger/more competitive schools bring to the "dregs" (as someone called them earlier) of the BVC may bring a larger gate to the table- it isn't like some of the visiting crowds at LB/CR, MC/ARC or ARL/Van are going to pay the bills. I doubt to many people make the trip from ARL to Lue.... yes the gate is bigger but it isn't like that they're that huge that the bills are going to get paid.
