Talked to a coach last night. Asked how it was going with Moyer that he is around. He said all the bucyrus guys are great guys. Seem like great football minds. And my favorite quote, "the kids are getting their butts kicked for 2 hrs/day, I can tell you that!".
Haha I love that!
Goes along with what I've been hearing, that Moyer is working them harder than frye WITHOUT all the yelling and downgrading.
Getting fired up for the season to begin!

Do you mean its possible to push the athletes hard WITHOUT using those tactics?
Thats hard to believe....

This is going to be a sad year for me because my little girls will not be going to the games with me anymore. They will be starting kindergarten and informed me they are Roughriders now and Daddy is a Redskins. Even living in St. Marys I still rock the Redskins gear and have a Wapak rock in my landscaping.

Well they are still young , so there is still hope!

And at least this makes a little more sense.
Your infatuation with the former Wapak coach always seemed a little over the top.
But, now it becomes a little more clear.
Its either in the air or its in the water!

When you have parents that are fighting cancer and you need to be close to them and work you live where it best suits you and them. So tired of the idiots that come on here and bad mouth Frye like he didn't do nothing for this program. I loved the toughness Frye brought to Wapak because he brought something because before that it wasn't working. More wins in 4 years than any coach we ever had but during all those wins you guys were in the stands demanding a new coach RIGHT. I have posted many times I respected Frye but not how he left the program and the kids. I am very excited about Moyer but Im over 40 now if I show up or not doesn't change a thing what happens on that field but I can see my views are watched by many. Like I said my Redskins hat has Beezer on the back so Im not hard to find.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your parents and my heart and prayers go out to them in their battle.

Secondly, step back from the ledge..
I am not an idiot and won't accept being called one by a tough guy internet poster.
I am well aware what coach Frye brought to the program and how he went about his coaching.
I watched practices, attended every game , home and away, and had my own kids, every year he was here, play prominent roles on the field
I always respected the toughness, the expectation of winning and the team concept that coach Frye instilled.
Hes a helluva football coach.
But, I also believe that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Having been involved in sports my whole life,
I know that those winning attributes that I described for Frye can be taught in a diffrent manner.
It is possible to respect the job the former coach did and also hope that similar results can be seen on the field with
the new coaching regime

Not trying to come across as a tough guy Im 42 years old with twin 5 year olds so my best days are behind me. Just get tired when someone replys to my post Im called a Frye lover which is far from the truth. Always see people wanting to attack him he left but don't remember 2 state playoff wins and our first home playoff game. Moyer is our Head Coach now and Frye is just a name on a piece of stat paper.

Have never attacked him
Just had issues with some of his tactics with how he handled players and throwing up how St Marys did things even after 4 yrs in Wapak
Not necessary imo
I'm pretty sure it was only one playoff win at Franklin
Two years qualified for the playoffs with the first ever home game but only one win
1-2 record with losses against state champion Trotwood Madison and Springfield at home

Let our kids use it as motivation like they dont need anymore already. My cousin has a son who is a junior safety on the Roughtriders this year so its old news Im sure Frye went the same route with our kids to. Can talk all the trash you want off the field but the game is won on the field by desire and talent 2 things are Redskins have more of.

I would like to ask everyone to keep Coach Copeland and his family in their prayers as I heard his father is battling cancer and things are not going very well.

Talked with the Thomas Schoelien the other night and this is what he had to say about the season so far.
Dude we've been doing great . We went up to mount healthy the other day , a division 2 team down by Cincinnati that went 11-2 last year and whooped there butt. They even got me playing some tight end , caught 8 or 9 passes. But overall were looking pretty solid right now

Wapakoneta (9-2, Region 10 quarterfinalist): The Redskins are coming off the best four-year run (33-10 with two playoff appearances) in program history (under veteran head coach Doug Frye who is now at St. Marys Memorial) and hope to continue it under new head coach Travis Moyer. Moyer returns to coaching after a two-year absence. He previously spent 13 years at Bucyrus Wynford were he led the Royals to 118 wins, nine North Central Conference titles, eight playoff berths and a 58-game regular season win streak. WBL foes tab Wapak as the league favorite. The Redskins return three talented senior linemen in OL Blake Pfenning (6-5, 300; Two-time All-WBL), OL Wil Rankin (6-1,250; All-WBL) and DL Thomas Schoenlien (6-4, 250; Two-time All-WBL). Wapak also brings back four more All-WBL performers in senior RB Keaton Metz (6-1, 180/771 yards rushing, 10 TDs, 492 yards receving, eight TDs), senior QB/DB Kodi Morgan (6-0, 175/789 yards passing, seven TDs), senior DB Quinn Lotridge (6-0, 175/five INTs) and senior LB Adam Henderson (6-0, 180). Said Moyer: “I’m really excited and confident about the upcoming season. I’m a firm believer in that good things happen to those who work hard. Our players deserve all the credit in the world. They have been dedicated and committed during the off-season and have done everything we have asked of them.”
