If Cobbs AND Walton stay at LCC they will still be contenders to GET TO State tournament next season..Losing Kimbrough will be tough to replace,Losing Simpson will be IMPOSSIBLE to replace..Still wouldn't be surprised if Cobbs followed to Senior High though..
I'm not talking about LCC. I'm talking about Lima Sr.

I like to think of myself as a pretty progressive person (at my age), but, this is just nothing I can hop on board with in HIGH SCHOOL sports...
There's AAU, as many have mentioned, where everyone of caliber is seen, so, why leave your home school team when you're getting looks by "those who matter", anyway??? Especially as Simpson as your dad knowing the ins and outs of recruiting and having major coach/college connections?
And, I know many will take this badly, but, to leave LCC academics and atmosphere for LSH?
I TOTALLY don't get this way of thinking....
Just too old school and small town minded in this aspect, I guess.
High school athletics as we have known them have already DEFINTELY gone by the way as we've known them, unfortunately, RM....
I really have very lil interest anymore.

But, I do wish coach, son and "followers" all the best... I AM a Spartan supporter, always!!

Go LSH!!! ......and LCC

All about AAU and the summer. College coaches don't have a lot of time in season to check dudes out.
In regards to X. His AAU coach is his dad. He'd be a fool not to play for him year round.

I know that... That's my whole point...... I just don't agree on switching/transferring your home school..... But, s'pose it's kinda karma in this case..... Lol

Yes, let it rain down on me... :D

I understand IF there are MANY benefits.. I just don't see it justified in this case....but, I'm not the parent and maybe, very possibly, others know more than I do (tongue in cheek :P ).....not my situation to handle.... Just my outsiders opinion.......I readily admit I'm a small minded person when it comes to this/these transfer situation(s) , but, I will respect and support the simpson's and any other LCC/other followers' decisions.

VERY glad everything worked out for you, flight crew!!!

Speaking of songs; some may relate and remember......

"Be True To Your School"

When some loud braggart tries to put me down
And says his school is great
I tell him right away
"Now what's the matter buddy
Ain't you heard of my school
It's number one in the state"

So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school

I got a letterman's sweater
With a letter in front
I got for football and track
I'm proud to wear it now
When I cruise around
The other parts of the town
I got a decal in back

So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school

On Friday we'll be jacked up on the football game
And I'll be ready to fight
We're gonna smash 'em now
My girl will be working on her pom-poms now
And she'll be yelling tonight

So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school

Rah rah rah Be true to your school
Rah rah rah Be true to your school
Rah rah rah Be true to your school
Rah rah rah Be true to your school
"Forever never seems that long ~~until you're grown"

Well my school wasn't exactly true to me so why should I reciprocate? Back to X & Q. Why wouldn't he play for his dad? You think his dad wants to ride a bus to Toledo every wkd while his kid plays in Lima? Come on.....this was a no brainer.

Aaaaaaand, you will show that support by questioning their decision on a website? Got it. :shrug2:

You can't question somebodies decision, then turn around and support them? See it all the time. How many questioned LeBron James "Decision", yet now hope he returns to Cleveland?

James isn't a teenager and I don't think he got much 'support' immediately following 'the Decision'. I guess I just find it a little off-putting to publicly (though anonymously) question a teenage kid's decision on where he goes to school.

Slice hit the nail on the head for me. As for X and academics...my understanding is this is the type of kid who would succeed at ANY school.

The whole transfer/AAU thing irks me too. But I have ALWAYS said at DIV I it is not as bothersome. Mostly because I am a small town fan...but for other reasons too.

I said before Q got hired that I don't think many understand how "connected" Q is...and how big this COULD get. Lima Senior could easily become a perennial USA Today fixture type team... I am not saying they WILL. But the stars are aligned.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Yes. Just as I don't understand nor agree with many of my family or friends' decisions, I still love, respect and support them.

Semantically speaking, until he's 18, he can not make his own decisions, therefore it's the parents who made the decision (although, I'm quite sure he had plenty of input in the decision).. ..and that's been my quandary this whole time. I just don't understand it from a parental point of view. I never have said a word about X.
The talk here on this website isn't any different than what everyone is talking about everywhere.

Also, I'm hardly anonymous.....

X is going to play for his dad, and can be coached more and better by his father. Period, end of story. Now, as far as other dudes who transfer.....who cares? Each one has their own personal reason and it's none of our business. Every one of us has transferred colleges and/or switched jobs to improve ourselves. Not an ounce of difference imo.

Wow....anything for a W right??? Transferring and switching jobs is one thing....transferring schools is a completely different thing. Don't get me wrong...I don't and won't fault X for going to play for his dad....that's common sense. But I will absolutely NEVER believe that LSH hired Quincy with the thought that X may stay at LCC.....and that if he decided to come to LSH that he wouldn't be the only one......

Uhh no....guys transfer for all sorts of reasons. Playing time, coaching issues, teammate issues, want weaker comp, want stronger comp.....who knows. I read an article about a kid from FtWayne who is prolly gonna get drafted into the NHL. He left FtW at 16 to go to Cleveland for AAA hockey, then went to Michigan, then Canada. All about getting better and getting exposure. No big deal imo.

Do you know who the final 2 was when Shawn got hired when X was in elementary school and his older brother was 8th grader? It was Shawn Allen and Quincey Simpson. Why would he be a finalist if his kids were BOTH already in the district? Because they know he has ability to relate to the kids. Now getting X back may have made the decision a lot easier but not the only factor in the decision.

Its simple for kids to want to come to LSH for recruiting purposes.
X has a name that will attract colleges to the gym.
If the other kids are there playing well theyll get an opportunity to be seen.
I cant vision any division 1 coaches going to any other school to watch kids bc none of them have a "name"
right now.
And if your a kid who wants to win why wouldnt you want to play with X?
But if your a kid who would rather have personal goals then i could see why you wouldnt come!!!
I think Cobb is tired of being in X shadow.
Theyve been playing together since 3rd or 4th grade.
Now he sees an opportunity to do his OWN thing and have his OWN light!!!
Walton will be unhappy without X.
Cob is a shoot 1st wing plaer that will play the PG position, while X is a pass 1st true PG who gets his teammates involves... BIG difference!!!
Also look out for a kid moving into Lima from Cleveland.
I forgot his name but he supposedly plays for Q's King James Team!!!

You're a fine example for the Central Catholic over Senior High education.
