Lep, Kenton does have a state semifinal appearance, something 5 other WBL schools don't have.

Titans strand a runner at 3rd and can't score. Tough loss with the winning run being on a balk. OG finishes the year 20-6 I think. St. Henry moves on with a 24-3 record or so.

Redskins 26-3

OG either 19-7 or 20-7 (papers they have for media at onu said 19)

Tough loss to end your career on a balked run for Schimmoeller

The WBL will once again have a shot to have 2 teams in the Regionals up at Tiffin. They are guaranteed to have at least one team as Wapak and Bath will be playing each other. Defiance matches up with their old nemesis Bryan in the other District final. The winners of these two games will then play each other. What are all your thoughts on these 2 games?

By the way, we have to congratulate OG, SM and Celina on their fine seasons as well. They all 3 ran into some great teams yesterday with dominating pitchers.

It's all about who has enough pitching at this point. I hope it is us, lol. And with that line of thinking, I know Defiance will have enough picthing, so I hope Bryan defeats them

After no baserunners in the first 3 innings, Wapak goes up 2-0 after 4.

Wapak wins 5-4. Both aces came in during the later innings and didn't fare too well.

There will be a new state champion in division 2. Defiance goes down 6-5 against Bryan. It was a 3-2 game most of the way through, but Bryan comes through with 3 insurance runs in the top of the 7th, before Defiance ALMOST comes back, scoring 3 and stranding the bases loaded.

Good luck the rest of the way to Wapak!

6 errors? You can probably say this in any given year but it was obvious that defense was the undoing of this Defiance team. You can’t make this many errors, especially if you’re not going to have the dominating pitching like last year and many other previous years. This is the first time Defiance has ever lost to Bryan in the tournament. Also the first year since 1996 that the Bulldogs didn’t win at least either the WBL title or a district title. I have to call a year disappointing if neither of those occur. The Bulldogs also came up just short of making the regionals in football, basketball, & baseball in the same year, dang it. It was a tough spring with a bunch of records ending, after 2 straight years of at least 30 wins and no more than 4 losses in the last 9 years. But if this is a sacrifice for a state title, I’ll take it.

Teddy....welcome to everyone else's world.....lol. I'm not sure how you can call this season disappointing. To me its just the law of averages catching up. Every school...no matter how dominating has to have a "down" year sometime. 95% of the fans in Ohio would be thrilled to have a "disappointing" season like the Dogs did....

After looking on here something has to be said for the Wapakoneta program. According to the news they are making their 3rd straight regional appearance and 4th in 5 years. That seems pretty impressive.

I think disappointing and down can have the same meaning though. I don't see it any different than if O-G doesn't win a league title or make the regionals in basketball or Bath in softball (or girls basketball). I think those folks are so used to winning and don't see any downturn in the foreseeable future that it's upsetting when annual program goals are not met. I'm willing to bet the players and coaches in those programs are not satisfied if they don't accomplish those feats.
