I'm thinking that Flight has probably just been grounded :)

FlightCrew....

You remind me of 'Jeffcat Bucki'.....you claim to have all the knowledge concerning high school athletes, but when confronted you can never back up your statements.........and to go on a website and belittle athletes after they have received some recognition makes no sense and also makes you look even worse.........all these athletes are just kids....yep, kids.....why not let them enjoy the kudos that someone like Rick Bolus is giving them.......I think it is pretty neat when any local athlete receives recognition....heaven knows they deserve it after all the work they put in!!!!!!!!!
What do you want me to back up? I commented on players I have personally seen play and where I feel they would be best suited to play. I haven't bashed a single one of them. I'd like to hear opinions from you guys as to what you think rather than fall back on a dudes camp or some 20 yr old kid who hit an AAU tourney.

Flight...you keep bringing up the "20 year old kid".....again, that "kid" is likely the most respected HS basketball scout/writer in the entire Midwest. He's been to well over 300 games this year alone and knows more about basketball than you will ever know. He is the first one that gets called about commits/offers/etc from scouts, parents, coaches or players. Knock him all you want...but he is the king of basketball knowledge in the Midwest....

As far as what we think....everyone has told you....you're undervaluing every kid you mention. X and Bramlage in the MAC??? Not gonna happen. Smith not D1??? Again, likely wrong. Everyone has told you the same thing...yet you say "give me your opinions". Everyone has given you their opinions...multiple times. You don't like them, fine, we get it...but you're outnumbered so bad that at some point you either need to face the fact that you're obviously off base...or come up with a better reason than "I've seen them play"....because most everyone here has too.....lol

What is Trey Smith gonna bring to the table for a D1 basketball team?
If Noah wants to PLAY, he needs to go MAC.... my opinion.
If X can grow, get stronger and improve his shot...then yes, he could go B10. Until then, I do not agree.

What do YOU folks feel they need to improve on?

One issue is are we just talking about D1 offers or legit playing time at the high D1 level for 3-4 years?

I think most guys stated on here will get D1 offers, but at high level D1 schools most are "just another guy".

There ya go.....been trying to get that point across. I've known plenty of guys who went D1 over their heads and sat. There's only one, well actually two I've mentioned, that I TOTALLY DISAGREE with as being considered a D1 player.

How many times do you need to piss on a kid's parade before you feel you are big enough? Trey Smith is twice the human being you are. When he decides to make his list public, you will AGAIN be shown to be wrong. You have the right to your opinion. But we have the right to not take you serious...based on the fact your opinions have been demonstratively wrong every step of the way...but mostly because it is a dick move to tear down any kid who makes a list like the Bolus list.

What the heck could possibly be worthy of criticism for ANY of these kids who are going to have the opportunity for a free college education? Good for them... Who cares if they sit the bench or become All-American's? They are still better than most at their craft.

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Ground Crew -Give Dman a break. He's a diehard Jefferson guy. How many Jefferson basketball players have even been in the discussion of playing college basketball on any level. I'm sure to Dman it's like watching his own grandson play and have that opportunity.

We found someone who has read this thread and decided to tie his boat to FC. That will always help with your credibility. :-D Apparently being wrong is infectious... But you are close... ;-) Which is more than we can say for anything FC has written.

Thanks for backing up my point. To you it's like watching your own family member and you are going to go to great lengths to prove your point. I never said Smith was or wasn't a D1 prospect.

It is not a great challenge to prove FC doesn't know what he is talking about? Would the board better served to let idiocy go unchallenged? How many false statements need one make before someone corrects the record?

My only take on Trey in relation to basketball is "" I suspect DII is a good fit...maybe low DI...?". Not much to work with if you want to make a great nepotism case. Particularly since I purposefully undersold the reality of "interest." Besides, I don't care if he plays basketball. I want him to be a good kid who gets good grades and treats people with kindness. That is what is important to me.

The question you might want to ask yourself is why and how you could read a thread like this...and decide to come to the rescue of a poster like FC? Seems like there would be more appropriate participants to the topic worthy of saving...no?

I have participated to defend a bunch of kids who should be proudly recognized as among our areas best. I'm not sure what it is you want to add...? Would you and others feel better about yourselves if I called up Rick Bolus and asked him to please take that star away from those kids...?

I'm proud of all those kids because I love this game and I love to see area kids get recognised. I would be here defending all of them from BS whether a family member was involved or not...

If Rick Bolus was the guy saying some kid doesn't even look like DII...there might be some credibility. Or if college coaches were ignoring any of these kids. But that is not the case. We have a clear case of one idiot on this board minimizing or undervaluing a bunch of kids in what should have been a good moment for all of them.

...and you decided to provide cover for that idiot! The next quote from me that you, or anyone, can provide that is even remotely out of line with reality will be the first.

Hey man, really sorry I disagree with Mr Bolus, the 20 yr old kid and a few of you guys on here. I did not mean to belittle or demean any of the local players. I was only speaking my personal opinion. We'll see how the chips fall and best of luck to each of them.

Your apology is accepted by me if you didn't want to be mean-spirited. But it doesn't change the fact you are wrong.

Every chip that has already fallen has proven your opinions to be worthless. X's Xavier offer doesn't magically revert to a MAC offer now that you finally backtracked. Knapke's offers don't regress to DII because you have changed your tune. We don't need to wait for some mystical date in the future to determine you were just wrong.

The blind squirrel theory gives hope that you MAY get one right yet... But I would suggest that rather than continue to belittle the "20 year old kid", Bolus, and other posters...ALL who have no record of futility similar to your own on this topic... That maybe you find another sport...or spend a few years studying basketball recruiting BEFORE blindly spouting off on a subject you clearly aren't too knowledgeable about...

Again...apology accepted... But your record of failure stands noted.

Good deal. Now, where have I "failed"? I clearly stated from the onset I was stating my opinion of where they should go if they are to earn P.T.

Nice players. I'd say Ahrens could potentially go B10, Bramlage is MAC, Knapke D2, Mikesell D2-low level D1, X is MAC. Someone mentioned Smith from Del-Jeff. I'm not even sure he's D2 in all honesty.

Now you will try and lie to something so easily quoted. You may have backtracked (before or after you said you never backtrack) later... But there is nothing about playing time in your words. I think you are hopeless.

Let me clarify for just a second.....my ratings are based on what I see in them right now. Any one of those kids could bump up if they continue to improve, but that's where I see him getting good playing time right now.
I clarified this my 4th post of the thread.

Speaking of clarity...

We are supposed to believe, in the name of you buying time...that Xavier is recruiting X to be a bench warmer. They are going to the 2016 year class...2 years in advance...to solidify their bench? Or are you narcissistic enough to believe that you know more than the Xavier coaching staff does...and they are fools...?

Before you answer this... Honestly...NOW is the time to backtrack again. You do not want to go down the route of "it was an honest mistake" and "I was just talking about playing time...for all of them."

You were given multiple hints and pathways to backtrack the first time when it was gently suggested you might be "undervaluing" all of them. You choose the path of stubborn indignation... And now in hopes of saving face AFTER this is almost all behind you...you want to hope that Xavier Simpson...a 2016 stud...becomes a bench warmer at a higher than MAC level school...for your "see I told you so moment."

I know this has proven impossible for you in this entire thread. But out of uncomfortable sympathy I implore you to think this through.

You were wrong. You got into a conversation over your head and made some silly predictions...then stubbornly refused to concede. And now history is about to repeat...

You have a chance to walk away OR we can play "Bop the Bully" again. I am tired of doing this... You were wrong...you are wrong...and you will be wrong again if it is your contention that Xavier Simpson is a Xavier benchwarmer.

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Perfect fit!

Look back to page 2 . Xavier would be an excellent place for him.
