This whole ordeal has a new twist to it everyday. LSH supposedly is getting 4 out of the area transfers all basketball players via the AAU route for next year. They may not have enough basketballs to go around. These four are not your run of the mill level players. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I told everyone back in March how this plays out. I was chastised as I recall... It plays out with Lima Senior in Columbus.

Q's AAU team has 13 DI prospects. Think about that... There are kids with DI talent who want to be players 9-13 to play for this guy. Whatever you might want to say...the guy gets players to buy what he sells. His results speak for themselves.

LCC's allure was local. Quincy Simpson and Div I Lima Senior are now statewide...and I dare say multistate.

Back in March...I don't know that MOST of our RC faithful understood the possible ramifications of a Quincy hire... I don't even think I have thought it all the way through myself. But it is HUGE.

I am always interested in how the dominoes fall. I believe we are currently seeing the largest domino Limaland area basketball has ever witnessed.

Lima is about a decade behind Ohio's major cities with the super-team phenomenon. I think we might have just caught up...

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

6'4" soph shooting guard. plays on Q's King James squad. has various offers from mostly MAC schools

who says Lima's not growing...

For perspective...this kid doesn't start for King James.

Great basketball move by Lima Senior. Dman is right about the statewide or farther allure this hire makes. If all the dominoes fall in place, Lima Senior will once again be in the upper tiers of D 1 basketball in the state of Ohio. Although I don't agree with the idea of outsiders moving in. But again, it's the system that is in place. Even with the new proposal, it doesn't effect D 1 schools. I guess I am more apt to accept it if they admit to the recruiting that goes on, unlike most schools in the state.

If Quincey's son follows him to Lima Senior, I would expect to hear a retraction on his earlier statement of "it's not about the game of basketball, it's about the game of life."

Again, great basketball hire by Lima Senior. Limaland sports are always more interesting when Lima Senior is competitive.

It seems legit that X is staying per Twitter. Who knows...?

No, I will have no issues if they transfer out. I don't think it would be in their best interest long term, but that is up to each of them and their families.

Welcome back LCC fans...took a couple days to collect your thoughts... So what is the word? Do they stay or do they go? Will LCC need to change their academics in order to attract quality athletes? Or is status quo enough?

I'm not close enough to the situation to know who is staying or going. I would suspect that Xavier will move from the successful private school basketball team to the (currently) down-in-the-dumps public school basketball team with his father as the new coach (a la "Coach Carter").

LCC will continue to provide the best religiously based, college-preparatory education they're capable of providing to their students, as well as an abundance of extra curricular activities at the school and in the community. They'll do this in order to attract whoever wants to take advantage of those opportunities.

My question for you: Will you concede that, just maybe, academics and long-term future interests are a significant reason why kids (even athletes) are attending LCC if those kids decide to stay at LCC?

Quincy was asked directly...he replied LCC. Xavier retweeted the answer "LCC."

Could there be a more legit source than Quincy and Xavier themselves?

Maybe someone hacked their accounts... :-D

Hell yes I will concede...and respect the crap out of it. Though I'm not sure I need to concede. I don't know that I have ever opined that there are not good reasons for athletes or any students to choose private education.

My only opinion is that due to border-stretching and other advantages, some aforementioned...LCC and schools like that have a HUGE athletic advantage...worse at the lower levels like Div III. I would like to see a, system that bumps them up...

Not that I would think less if anyone who would choose to go back...though it would not be my personal choice in the same situation.

Looks like Tom Usher was watching closely to this on here and calling out RM??

@Lima_Usher: Heading over to talk to new LS coach Quincey Simpson...in spite of certain websites saying Doug Davis had the job. Davis did interview.

Glad to see Tommy Boy reads the RC religiously.....more than I can say I follow his Twitter account....
I gotta ask though, "Why didn't he call us when we said Cooper was flying the nest?"
"Or LB's Williman calling it quits?".....these stories hit the RC MONTHS before the news became public
or common knowledge....and if they hadn't called TLN he might still have not known about it....lol

Lol...

I am aware upsets can and do happen. Plus this is all hypothetical at this point.

The point I am making is that Lima Senior POSSIBILITIES in attracting talent is unlike anything this area has ever seen. We are talking about the kind of rare public school who the big USA Today national prorams would like to schedule.

It is all conjecture...

Maybe they play it straight.. which I opine Allen has left in very decent condition.

Should be a fun summer...

Wow....nothing like getting a little....(or ALOT) ahead of yourself huh??? they don't even have X yet....if he doesn't come I don't see all these "national" recruits coming either....would be tough to have Lima Senior being a national power....and the coach's son playing at a little ol' D3 school across town.

I will let you list all the high school coaches in the country who also coach an AAU team with 13 D1 prospects. The list is short. I don't see anything wrong with speculating about the possibilities. It is the offseason.
