Just met Coach Meyers tonight and he has a lot of energy and seems to want to build the program the right way. I was also impressed on he stance on the grades of his players, since he was his high school valedictorian!! Good luck coach we are all behind you !

So a teacher can teach 7-12 but not 6th......that makes absolutely no sense....eapecially in science.

Remember, you are talking about something that has a state agency involved.

I hear there have been some challenges already- IE the coach of an opponent teaching in the HS and what not. PG and McComb play this season?
There are dozens of coaches around the state who are not teachers, or don't teach in the school system they coach. This is not new at all.

Can you name any successful football program that the head coach is not in the building?

As I have stated previously, Coach Inselmann was a teacher at Napoleon HS but the HC at Patrick Henry...I think he would be what you would classify as successful...

But...I still feel you are better off in the long run having the HC in the building...

Marion Local years ago had Mike Cramer.... building that program into
a state powerhouse......I'm pretty sure he wasn't a teacher in
their school system....

Correct. But there is another level of intrigue with this coach being a teacher at an opposing/conference school.

Great example. Dave Bzovi is another one. Probably familiar to PG people.

Lots of excitement buzzing around with the P-G boys, this change is a great thing for P-G, even if the moms don't like the thought of there boys going through hell day. Keep the moms out of football and things will go better.

Not only was he not a teacher in the system, he also had nothing to do with them becoming a state power
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

It is really too bad people won't acknowledge what "Kaz" did for that program. He cleaned it up and got it headed in the right direction and then wasn't able to reap the benefits. This and the fact that Mike won't blow his own horn about his accomplishments have kept him from getting another head coaching position.

heard today that he might be coming back to the area to become a football coach again.....I think he's still
coaching golf at one of the Toledo area schools but would like to get back to roaming the sidelines....RM

As someone from Marion, you have no idea what you are talking about. He came as close to killing the program as anyone in ML's history, and is the worst football hire they ever made.
