A big part of the issue is that there are a lot of HS kids driving to these games. If professional truck drivers (look up the accident on the Turnpike) had issues today, do you really think that 4 schools want a bunch of their 16 and 17 year olds driving 60+ miles in this crap???

Hey I wanted to go see some basketball tonight as much as the next fan. OG, LCC and Worthington Christian could probably have made it. Huron, on the other hand........

The turnpike is closed between Huron and Fremont and that area was under a level 3 less than 2 hours ago.

ONU's AD Tom Simmons said on 93.1 that it will be a split session because OHSAA told them.

It would have been a split session at the Stroh Center, too. It seats 5,000 so in a single session each team would have gotten only 1,250 tickets. That wasn't going to happen.

BTW: massive, fatal pileup on the Ohio Turnpike today of 50+ cars and semis. Numerous other roads in the Sandusky area were treacherous and littered with accidents. Huron fans would have had to drive through that mess. Glad they postponed.

I'm glad we all agree it was a smart move to postpone the games. If the streets and roads I travel daily were handled 1/4th as well as I-75 is I'd be ecstatic! Very difficult drive this morning. County roads in Allen county were very slick late this afternoon w/ a few drive-offs.

I agree, highly offensive.....

Highly offensive to say that LCC plays street ball? Good grief General Tso comments are more offensive than that and no one cares

correct, is this an advantage for LCC since they played their district games at ONU? :sarcasm:

Wasn't Frank Kill just on Koza a few days ago saying it was a big advantage that OG played their regional and districts at BG?

That's funny because I heard that sentiment the other day at BG......yeah because it's OG's fault that Napoleon was unavailable this year? HAHA

He also complained last week on Koza when they moved the LCC/Carey game time to the late game because of the Carey girls playing a regional game. He said the early game winner had an advantage in scouting. Well he gets the early game and it's at ONU tomorrow night. I'm sure he's not complaining now and you won't hear TyMac complaining about where and when O-G plays. Just Frankie doing what he does best.

If I had a penny for every time someone on the RC complained about Cooper or Kill, I would have enough money to build LCC there own football field...You guys need to get over LCC coaches and support your own more verbally on the RC!!!

You can go back through any Leipsic thread and you will find that I am very outspoken in my support of Leipsic coaches. The difference is they don't run their mouths like Frankie does and Coop did. Just callin it like I see it.

Yeah, I don't know why this is news. Regional games are always a split session no matter the venue.

Amen brother. Its the quality of man that is in question in my mind, not where they coach, but it doesn't hurt :shrug2: . LJ

Or at least have the decency to do it in private like everyone else.

Not sure this is the case. Last night at Kettering they asked the Marion and Russia fans to move up after their game was over in order to give the best seats to the TV and TC fans. There was no formal clearing of the gym, as I saw it.

Along with the tragic turnpike incident, over here in Defiance there were 10 semis jackknifed on 24, which is easily our equivalent of 75. Luckily no injuries or anything with that, but the fact is the OHSAA made the right call in this case. It makes for a headache today, but there was no reason to force 4 teams and fanbases to be on the roads last night.

To say he "complained" is a bit over the top. I had the radio on while this was being discussed. It seemed he was discussing the pros and cons...ya know like what you are supposed to do in an interview. Would you rather coaches answer media questions with a "yes" and a "no" every time? If you would then that's cool, go start your own radio program and good luck with those ratings.

Koza said last night that Worthington Christian wanted to play the game yesterday, they had the longest trip. I support postponing the games last night. But we need to be careful how far we take this. It's Ohio, it's winter, it's snowy. You just have to be careful, most of the main roads are decent. Leave early, don't speed, pretty much common sense things. Imagine how states like Minnesota, Michigan and the Dakotas get their high school sports in? They just deal with it.

It was also raining in Columbus yesterday, they didn't get the snow that NWO got they may have gotten a little ice, but mostly it was just rain.

Columbus didn't get anything....not a flake of snow and no ice. There was a small area that did get ice first...then snow on top of it, but that ended North of Marion. It was 44 degrees and raining in Worthington yesterday at 1pm....of course they would want to play. They had no idea what was going on up here.

1. To allow the 2nd game's fans first chance at grabbing seats for the latter game, rather than the 1st game's fans to just sit around in their seats for the second game. Forces them to leave and and give up the "prime" seats to those with a rooting interest in game 2.
2. Money — "You want to see 2 games? Pay for 2 games."

People say that ONU has poor sightlines and parking.
Parking, no argument there. It does need an added parking venue nearby. Across the street perhaps?
However, I've never found "poor sightlines" to be an issue. While the bleachers are farther away from the court than typical gyms, I've never had an issue of being able to see the court. While student sections complain about being farther away, the larger fan bases still make it loud and can become a factor. I understand the argument, but it's overblown in my opinion.

I agree. One of my favorites to watch HS games.
