OG wins 201 avg wow they beat the teams the same size

OG L 343 avg wow they lose to the teams bigger then them

Something to be said..................................

do you think the OHSAA should go to 7 divisions in basketball to cut down on the enrollment discrepancy?

Pretty much the same, OG has 205 boys in the school and Huron 203.........so OG should win.

No

Just don't believe it is something to be said about.

OG should be favored to win a DIV 3 district every year.

Another example :

WT last 10 years

2005 div 3 sect
2006 div 3 sect
2007 div 3 sect
2008 div 4 state
2009 div 4 sect
2010 div 4 regionals
2011 div 4 sect
2012 div 3 sect
2013 div 3 sect
2014 div 4 regionals

Div 3 -5 times not out of sectionals

Div 4 -5 times 3 District titles

If you don't believe the size of your school/the size of the population you draw from compared to ur competition is directly correlated with your success then you don't know math.

Are there outliers? yes--a good example on a bigger scale. Indiana HS talent vs Ohio HS talent. You would believe because Ohio is bigger they would put out more/better college BB recruits. Well they don't. But with most outliers there is a reason. Indiana puts a greater emphasis on BB while Ohio is more of a FB state.

Based on enrollment Allen East (133) should be better than Crestview (116) in D4 every year. So you are saying OG should be bumped up to D2 since the titans play a D2- D1 schedule, even though OG is below D2 enrollment? What about LCC, they are damn good every year and close to D4, enrollment-wise?

So if wins and losses are going to go by enrollment I guess OG better hurry and get out of the WBL. They are just so small there is no way they will ever have any success against those big schools.. lol....oh and when OG win a state title in D2 they were the smallest enrollment in D2 :)

No system is perfect, deal with it/ Paulding had one of their best teams ever ( I know, a bunch of panther fans told me when I was standing in line before the game) and lost to a pretty mediocre OG team.

So how do you think this injustice can be rectified?

I'm not sure he's whining about Paulding losing, just making a point about correlation between wins and enrollment figures... Honestly, it's a good discussion point.

Not sure I would say thats one of paulding's best teams ever, but I would agree this is a mediocre OG team at best. I went to the game today and i'm not sure either team deserves a regional birth. Has the quality of basketball in NWO really fallen to the level of what I saw today?

Again. Allen East has a higher enrollment than Crestview. Bowling Green High School has double the enrollment of OG, and BG is terrible. Yet according to some BG should be twice as good as OG. You can't evaluate schools based on enrollment numbers.

no injustice, no one should be bumped up, system shouldn't be changed. Never said any of this.

Your AE and Convoy comparison is kinda silly. Basic math knowledge would tell me as the difference gets smaller then the correlation would be more likely false or less.

Yeah, it was bad, no doubt.

What would you consider was the best team in Paulding history?

I agree that there's a correlation with the enrollment numbers and success, but OG has been successful in both D2 and D3. I believe you can find examples to support both arguments.

Paulding teams in late 80's were better than this one and probably the 2011 team as well. Not sure about before late 80's as that was before my time.
