Post,

If you think Blunk's basket was good, you must be as high as the Perry kids that got picked up the other night.

Hard to believe that basket is even CLOSE to being good.... To me it sounded like the buzzer went when Blunk had the ball about at his waist. The travel call on the rebound was maybe worse... which enabled Arlington to get their 2 shots off in 2.6 seconds.

You people are unbelievable. You talk about the quality of the Rams, then when they beat you you make every excuse in the book why you lost, degrade cheerleaders, etc. I'm not going to say a word about the Perry-Arlington game. And if Perry does beat them, so be it. You'll have been owned by our conference this year. At least when we lose, I don't get on here and degrade communities and kids.

Just found this from another thread from about a week ago. I find the 3rd sentence very interesting. However I find the 6th sentence even more interesting, "I don't get on here and degrade communities and kids." True, you didn't. What you did was blame a loss solely on the officials. Granted, calls were bad both ways at different junctions of the game, but Perry had numerous opportunities to "ice" the game in the last minute. Also I have not been lucky enough to see the last shot of regulation again, but I know it was very close and to have to call it in "real time" has to be tough for an official. This is not college or NBA where there is a monitor courtside to review the play, so unfortunately we as fans have to have enough maturity to realize that this is a very difficult task for the officials. It was an entertaining game to say the least; both teams played hard and gave it all they had. Let's not take that away from the players for each team. Good luck to both USV and Arlington in District play.

No, St. John's beat Marion Local at the Vatican.

Yes. And Marion Local was playing up and down at that point of the year. and that was probably St Johns most impressive game of the year.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but I did just see a picture which shows the clock at all zeroes and the ball still in Blunk's hands so...

We even have a kid celebrating, because he heard the start of the horn. That's how not close this play was.

Once again, a great HS basketball game - not sure how many kids graduate from LP but you have a nice team and I would think USV v. LP would a very fun game to watch - up and down the court with lots of athletes. On to Spencerville - another very difficult opponent.

We lose a bunch. Poling is a junior, the rest of the starters are seniors. And we already played USV they beat us 60-54.

TheFan - make your FT's late and this is not an issue. Veteran, seasoned teams win those games by sealing the deal late - clearly your key players in Poling and Hodges couldn't get it done at the FT line late. Refs don't win/lose games, although this call does look suspect. In the end, it wouldn't have come down to that though had your best players finished the game at the FT line late.

I agree about the free throws. I knew that would be an issue at some point down the road. But Post, what about the 3 you hit to make it 52-50? An obvious travel before he hit it. I can think of numerous situations like that. Free throws were only a small equation. Didnt you say that you saw the video of the shot and said it was good? Now you look at the picture and say otherwise. I'm confused. Either way, even though this was very unsettling, good luck against Spencerville.

Poor free throw shooting does seem to always come back and haunt ya. As for the pic.... that's a tough one to swallow.

Your bailing out the refs by saying this, I do not support either team but it's obvious Perry won.

Same exact thing happened at OG last year.Bath lost at buzzer but the OG kid had the ball in his hands too. It was clear as day. Most good refs can make the right call.

Right or wrong, it's obvious Perry did not win the game. At the end of the day Arlington is moving on, not Perry. Just hit your free throws and that play doesn't even matter. Plain and simple.

After the last basket gift, there should not be any complaints by Red Devils fans about any bad calls against them for the rest of this season.... And, after seeing the picture on here, I too, feel bad for the Perry kids who, based on this picture, clearly should've won this game.
