Spencerville is inconsistent because of their youth.......I know one thing.....I would not want to play them!!!!!

Oh.....and those freshman are now sophomores and those sophomores are now juniors!!!!!

I agree that Spencerville's youth is good. Goeke is a tough cookie...one of the best in the area. But their senior Bowers is the wheel that makes it turn. He is a damn fine basketball player.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Wow, I didn't realize Perry had lost 3 starters. That stinks. Why do kids make really poor decisions??? Wait two weeks, the season is over and you can do whatever you want. Perry had a legit shot at going somewhere this year too. Arlington's OT win tonight, not looking real impressive now.

Sad thing is Perry should have win in regulation... Waiting to hear the Arlington crowd justify this one because they clearly had help tonight. 2.6 seconds, in bound the ball underneath your own baseline. Make move, dribble at least once, shoot a little jumper from the baseline, get the rebound, bring it down, make a move and shoot again from 4 or 5 ft in the lane, all within the 2.6 seconds... Put back was late but it got counted.
There were other irregularities at the scores table that I'm not sure was about. Both coaches were not pleased at various times but Perry's obviously at the end.
Entertaining game, feel bad for Perry's kids. Arlington showed some poise down the stretch which ultimately got them the win. And Vermillion was his usual... solid.

This game was an abomination and should be reviewed. Doesn't help that the combined ages for the officials equal the time Ohio has been a state in the union.

A few thoughts on tonight's game....
1. Why in the world does Kenton get a sectional every year? Horrible facilities, split session b/c gym is so small and last but not least, the scorers table cannot even do their job which cost both teams at various times tonight
2. Credit Lima Perry - after losing a few kids they played hard, and man, they are quick
3. Lesson in life for a few fans/players - game isn't over when their is still 55 sec on the clock. A few LP players learned this the hard way; I will go back to the old saying "act like you have been there before"...Poling (good player) spent too much time talking to crowd & clapping his hands to the crowd late in the game...lesson learned.
4. Credit to Arlington's guards - tough to withstand that pressure all night and still find a way to get it done when our interior play wasn't up to snuff.
5. A great overall game - great atmosphere.

Really???? Someone from Arlington complaining about another schools facilities?? Arlington's facilities is a joke! Enjoy the gift.... ;-) Oh.. one more question... why you always have to rag on the opposing teams players and fans?? Try sitting on the visitors side once and watch and listen to the red devil faithful. Pretty entertaining to say the least.

Post,

While all true, you can't just ignore the basket at the end. Perry should have won the game, everyone in the gym knew it except for that official. There is no excuse to blow that call in a TOURNAMENT game.

I too am baffled as to why Kenton gets to host. It is hotter than hell in there, the parking sucks, I could go on. I guess no other facility in between all of the schools is good enough. I'd rather have it at Ada than Kenton, but Ada is in the sectional. They really have no other option.

Also, Perry's foul shooting was abysmal inside of 2 minutes. That could be a reason you could say it went to OT. But we all know what happened.

Personally it's good to see teams like Perry and USV consistently being competitive again. Just sayin'.

Newsflash - I just watched a video and while I wasn't sure Blunk's basket was good either - the video I just saw shows it was good. Pretty tough to tell, but it appeared to be good. Sorry TheFan - reality sucks. Players don't taunt fans, nor should they act like the game is over when their is nearly a minute left. It's HS basketball - kids miss FT's all the time, and sometimes the other team gets a break. This is exactly how it went down tonight...and I credit Arlington's senior laden team in taking advantage of the missed FT's and a few bad shots late by LP. A great game though.

I know Bath used to host tournament games with similar teams. They must have let it go? Not that Bath is much of a step up from Kenton, facility- wise. But it is better.

Personally after seeing all 4 of the teams in the wapak district play, I like USV to get out of there. Its a shame they and Marion Local play in the semis. That would be a classic district final game.
