Look up the HN website and find out. I'll trust my source.

I'm hearing the same as HH. That and a buck will get you a cup of coffee.

Mike Dennis...

Nailed it. With Andrew Cano back as well. Both phenomenol. Both a part of the long line of success. More so Dennis from the late 80's to 2006. Cano joined the staff from around 2002 and coached for 7-8 years.

Then why didn't he coach there after Pete left. Wasn't he a teacher at Hardin northern. Why did obenour get the job in the 1st place. I heard it was because nobody else wanted it after cavinee left. Why does Dennis want it now instead of taking it when it was open before.

Dennis has a son who plays at MSU and did not want to put the time in as the HC. They, HN, made it worth his while with retire/rehire...
Change in conferences make it easier as well, if that's the path they choose.
Obie had been the JH coach and asst for years and stepped up when no one else would. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to that role if asked. He's a HN lifer and a great guy.

All true... plus Mike asked Pete for a lesser roll ( Jr hi) while his son was still in h.s. so he could attend games, Pete said no if you coach Jr hi I need you to scout.... Arlington allowed him to help out and still attend his sons games so Mike choose to help at Arlington.

Again. Nailed it. Dennis and Obenour are good buddies. Obenour will remain on staff i am sure. Things will surely be looking up at Hardin Northern if this all goes true and the weightroom numbers have been consistently around 20. Although just a few handful of upper classman currently. You have to start somewhere. Coach Dennis would get every ounce of talent out of the kids plus add more.

Yes everything that has been previously stated is true, the turnaround has begun, and those two guys will be able to draw off the past success to help muster interest in the program again. Probably the best thing that could've happened considering the situation, which will send a huge message to the BVC. IMO it's time for these schools in the BVC to ante up and tell L-B to go to the NWC. Why not those schools are comparable in size and travel wouldn't be that much farther. They could replace LCC, and the BVC would be back to 12. But there is a faction up there that still thinks it all evolves around them, and how could the league continue. How long to you continue to beat up on schools that when looking at enrollment your three times the size, what are you gaining? There it is let the naysayers begin.

Thanks for the info. That makes a lot of sense. If they join the nwcc they already have some good county rivalries to make the switch easier.

I think that Dean Butler(Liberty-Benton) is still commissioner of the BVC, sooooooo........

Ya tinman, but it's like the bully in the school at this point, go pick on kids your own size, nobody benefits and the rift widens, everybody wants to put their head in the sand about it, and expansion was done on a whim, tell me how Hopewell Louden fits geographically? Everybody wants to boot HN and problem solved, you still have the elephant in the room. Nobody benefits at this point because their is such a disparity between schools, and to think HN is the only one the writing is on the wall for these other schools Vanlue deals with it every year Cory going through it, there's no industry to bring people there so it will continue to slide.

Yep, but some of them need to get the guts to unload Butler and take their league back. Not likely, but needed.

If 10 of the 13 schools want to boot Butler they would have no problem doing so.

I agree. LB is gaining absolutely nothing remaining in the BVC. A BVC championship i guess and 10-1 record each year after most likely losing in round 1 of playoffs? Alright. With the new division alignments Division 5 has become tougher and LB i believe has now become somewhat a smaller D.5 team correct me if i am wrong. LB will take first round shellackings on the chin from here out like they did this year from Huron. Why? It's simple, beating up on schools in the BVC where most are 2 to 3 size smaller in numbers doesn't prepare you for the division 5 teams you'll face in the playoffs as a 4/5 seed even going 10-0 in the BVC. To each their own though LB, it's your move though since clearly the BVC "revolves around LB".

Okay HN joins the NWCC. This changes the outcome that LB is playing schools 2/3 times smaller in the BVC still? Got ya. Enjoy getting smacked in the mouth round 1 playoffs each year LB from not being prepared for teams like Huron. That BVC championship though, go get it and be proud!

At least they field a team. Hard to call a team out for losing in round one when you cancel your season. The bears would not even be competitive in the nwcc in any boys sport. The rest of the league wants you out. Deal with it.

They have wanted HN out for years, and last year just gave them a reason to do it! It really used to burn their ass when we were winning especially that team up north 7 miles. I get a kick out of these naysayers, HN brought notoriety to a conference that was commonly referred to as the Barely Varsity Conference, and it took HN playing with the big boys (MAC) to change that , get off your high horses.

Some truth... some rambling. The last two sentences are particularly true.

Up until a few months ago I wasn't a "LB should leave the bvc" guy. I had my reasons, some may have been shortsighted or personal , maybe even been caught up in some "its tradition" But lately ..... even the LB people need to ask?.... what do we gain by playing.... say .... Arcadia and winning by 55?(football) . Or, Last night LB beat Leipsic in bball 83-30. Really?? What did your starting 5 get out of playing in that game?? Be honest! Face it none of the other BVC schools are going to grow. It would take nothing less then a small miracle to get CR or Arlington or Pandora up to LB numbers (with out consolidation).

The ONLY thing you are getting out of staying is short bus rides to and from games. Be honest with yourselfs and ask, do I really want to go see a 65 point beat down of CR again?

Its been a good ride up until now, we have all (for the most part) had a bit of success here and there, but all things eventually need some kind of change.

So with no anger and no hate I must say... don't go away mad... but go away. We can still be friends.
