Pretty good chance the committee will know who their guy is by the weekend.

Rocketman - who you picking as the new coach? Moyer, Speller, or Burbacher?
Are these the for sure final three?

Who would be good assistant coaches?

Why would you not go with the group in place? I don't think you would want a complete wholesale change on the staff that produced more wins in a 4 year stretch than any other teams in Wapakoneta history. I know Coach Frye was a big part of the success but you still have to have good assistants to accomplish what the program has the last 4 years.

Defensively we are fine with Patterson and Sammons etc, going to need some new blood for the offensive side. Been saying this in earlier posts, but love him or hate him but Mark Law is most experienced offensive coach in house. Could bring Todd Erb back over to the offensive side. Past offensive coaches the new coach could inquire about could be Tim Duncan, Bob Askins, Dustin Dobie, maybe bring up freshman coach Adam Friemring.

I think the staff changed every year that frye was here. I think Sammons was the only coach on staff for all 4 years.

Not the biggest fans of schnarre and Huelskamp, wouldn't be against upgrading there. Be interesting

Ya it will be interesting to see which coaches will want to come back now that frye is gone. He ran off some good coaches. Askins Duncan Dobie Wilson Kellermeyer dickey and law. All of which were with Kevin fell.

Kellermeyer is at Elida and I think he likes it there. Elida may try to bring Dobie in because he teaches at Elida too

The lifting program is what really turned Wapak around so losing Patterson would hurt us. Moyer hopefully will keep the ship on course. Wapak has played with the big boys and showed heart. Look at the Piqua and Madison game they were alot closer than it showed. It is like the ex-coach used to say Wapak just needs to start winning and feel like they will win. Im sure Wapak is imtimidated playing some of these schools that have multiple kids going to Ohio State, Michigan, Or Notre Dame.
I remember a couple big guys from Wapak that went on to play major college football at Michigan and ND I believe. The Hammersteins were monsters.

Out of those three, I would pick Moyer. I would also like to see all of the assistance coach's stay. Maybe bring Law back if possible.

Keep in mind that HS coaches don't bring their entire previous staff along like college coaches do. I would think that with it being February already that the new coach would have to consider bringing back most of the current assistants....at least for the first year until he meets some people in the area and gets an idea on who he may want to bring in.

What happened to the Inselman rumors?
remember when I said I doubted this one?

IF they were smart (and remember this is Wapak) I would say Moyer is a shoo in....

Inselmann interviewed, but word is he wasn't going to move. He would just make the hour drive. Committee viewed that as he was just in it for the short term and one of their goals was to pick a long term candidate.

This is correct...he was willing to at least put in 10 years is what I heard, but the committee wanted him to move into Wapak.

I can see why you would want your head coach to be somewhat local. Hope the next coach takes as much time with our youth programs that's where success is started.
