WMFD.com is reporting that Wynford head football coach Travis Moyer has resigned today. As a NCC fan, this is a shocker.

This from WMFD Mansfield:

Travis Moyer has decided to step away from his position as head football coach of the Wynford Royals. Moyer has been head coach at Wynford since 1999 and in that time the Royals have won eight NCC championships, has made eight playoff appearances, seven consecutive. Wynford finished as Division V regional runner-up to Patrick henry in 2005 and regional runner-up in Division VI to Norwalk St.Paul in 2009, but claimed the D-5 regional championship this past season in overtime over Lucasville Valley. Moyer also steps away with his team holding a 58 game regular season winning streak with five consecutive undefeated regular seasons. Since mid-season 2004, Wynford has a combined regular season record of 74-1. Their only loss in that time span was a 28-7 setback in week two of the 2006 season to Mohawk. The Royals have not lost an NCC game since week five of the 2004 season when Lucas stopped the Royals 14-13.

All I can say is that Coach Moyer is a class act. He had every opportunity to score 60 or 70 points against certain opponents and always kept the Royals score in the 40's against those teams. His teams were disciplined and fundamentally sound. His record speaks for itself but Coach Moyer is great person, very hard worker and if he has coached his last football game, the game will sorely miss a coach like him. I wish him nothing but the best as he moves forward.

I have great respect for Coach Moyer and salute him for realizing that family is more important than coaching.

For Wynford's sake, I hope he finds a worthy successor to keep their state regular season win record going.

Thank goodness 'cause you totally ripped me when I was being nothing but nice--and was even giving you a compliment! Lol
I just never got around to relying back to you to explain.
Glad all's well with you and the fam!
Take care,
Slicer

Ps..... Thanks for the bolded, larger font, too.... It really helps me as my eyesight is continually deteriorating.

In this case, it's coach speak for the talent pool is drying up. They won't be horrible by any means, but not as good as they've been the last 7-8 years.
