Are you referring to Law and Sammons?

Hearing Law and Sammons aren't getting interviews. Patterson will be getting an interview.

I think the committee needs to look at someone who wants to make a long term commitment to Wapakoneta and the program. Coach Insellman has a more than impressive resume but has already retired from Patrick Henry. How many years of coaching would he give to Wapakoneta? If only 3, 4, 5 years then we are back in the same position of hiring a new coach again just shortly after the program has the opportunity to get his system installed. Is he willing to pack up and move to our community since he is retired? Our last 2 coaches did not move to or have anything to do with the community of Wapakoneta and I think that say's a lot about their intentions to make a complete commitment to Wapakoneta high school and our community. I don't mean to single out just Coach Insellman but this goes for any coach who applied for our job. I think some people feel that just because you were a head coach you are automatically a better coach than an assistant coach and I don't think that is always true. Every good successful coach will tell you he has good assistant coaches. Sometimes very good assistants are overlooked for coaching job's because they have not been given an opportunity to be a head coach yet by a school. All of these head coaches at one time or another was nothing but an assistant coach but were given the opportunity to become a head coach and succeeded very well. Some of your top college and pro coaches were just assistants before being given a chance to be a head coach. My point is everyone needs to keep an open mind during this process because you never know somebody who has never been given an opportunity to be a head coach might be your next great head coach, all they needed was an opportunity like the ones given to Coach Insellman, Coach Shriner, Coach Frye ect.

I read in the paper, that is one thing they are looking for a long term coach....I agree with what your saying as to moving here...I feel they need to "buy into " Wapak because they want Wapak to "buy into them...

I think Travis Moyer is their guy. From him resigning and being a candidate and frye also coached at bucyrus for 5 years. Isn't their basketball coach they just hired from bucyrus also? I may be wrong on that. But their seems a connection from there and he's a younger guy looking at a long term position.

Moyer runs Wing -t and Inselman runs west coast and Wayne trace coach runs spread. Top 3 candidates. U never know how long u have anybody and what guy can get Wapak to buy in. Inselman no doubt will win titles same as other 2. Details will be the difference

Did you put in for job, sounds like u think no one less than Urban Meyer shoul get the Job. He has won since day 1 at Fort. And he obviously impressed someone to get interview.

If we are interviewing guys that run the wing t why would we not just look at Patterson who has coached under coach Frye for over
9 or 10 years and has actively been running our weight program, the kids love him and they are familiar with him. Why bring in an outside guy who runs the wing t?

Im sorry but the kids like him dont make a head coach. With a Moyer or Inselmann you have a established coach who has proven the ability to win. I dont want a could be or should be before saying a good coach. Im not trying to be a dick about this because some of these guys could be the nicest guys in the world. Its my opinion that I would like a established head coach. Lets hear from everyone else what they would like in a coach.

My opinion, Burgbacher gets this job. That's just me though. Makes sense. Local, established, and can commit many years to Wapakoneta.

The character issues mentioned above, however, seem to be unfortunately true.

You guys realize Moyer resigned from Wynford 2 years ago though, right? It's not like he resigned two weeks ago and everyone should speculate that he did so because he knows he's Wapaks guy.
