First of all beezer, I don't think Wapak has had more than two state champs in wrestling - the same amount as Defiance. Wapak has done a good job of dominating the league for the last 18 years but the WBL has historically been a weak wrestling league. Plus, Wapak's run doesn't touch Defiance's 1974-1995 domination or 88-match winning streak (which is the longest in WBL history in any sport), and the Bulldogs still have 4 more WBL titles than the Redskins.

Is it spring yet? Should be a very good WBL tourney and my guess is Wapak will nip out Defiance and Bath. I believe it's next weekend in Kenton if u guys want to go watch.

I've got the exact same things going on today(except my little girl is running around, pretending she's Doc McStuffins) Aren't Saturdays great when the wife is at work and you're not? :hifive2:

I am very aware of the Defiance program and what it has achieved I was talking about the time Jason has taken over the program. Like it or not I am very proud of what my friend has accomplished there.

I thought this thread was about who will be hired as Wapakoneta's next football coach not a thread on wrestling.

Ben Mauk is moving to Missouri with his dad. He will not take over at Kenton or Wapak,

I haven't heard where he was definitely going. He is making plans to keep doing his qb club workouts. If he was leaving. I would think they those would be slowing down or he would be telling the parents that pay him weekly he would be leaving.

Like I said earlier Wapak needs a established Head Coach not someone who has never been a head coach before. If some of the names being thrown around are correct Wapak has some of the best coaches in the area wanting this job. I really don't want hear Patterson, Law, Or Erb being considered. Just because someone ran the country store doesn't mean there ready to run walmart.

I agree, he must not know exactly what he is going to do. If he was going to Missouri, he would shut down the "QB Club". If not sure, why would he shut down such a nifty recruiting tool for Kenton. LJ

It is also a nice way for him to make some extra money. I know of a parent that pays him about 160 a month.

I find it hard to believe that all the big name coaches being thrown around on this thread actually applied. It will be interesting to see the names of those that actually did apply, I believe if someone contacts the school they have to give the list of who applied. Tuesday is final day for applications.

Stay patient my friends. Things have quieted down and I think everybody is playing it close to the vest now. There are some big names in the picture, now whether they go thru and interview is a different story. Some may be playing a "frye" and playing both sides to get best deal.
There is a wild card of there, but I'm going to mention his name right now. He wants it on the downlow. My buddy talked to this coach and he is interested, was asking a lot of questions relating to Wapak. He is still kicking it around. Got a great job, but see's a lot of potential in Wapak.

Where are you getting your information and is it credible? If you have info then post it so rocket corner can be the first to report it.

The wild card name came from my buddy who coaches varsity in the area. Spent the better part of an hour talking to this interested coach. He wants it on the downlow as not to upset his school. Hasn't applied just yet, but still kicking it around. he would create a lot of buzz.

In regards to Schriner and Inselmann, that came from a source close the people who were making calls to certain coaches gauging interest. He said they applied and were suppose to interview, possibly last week. Haven't talked to the source for a few days so don't have the latest or whether they have or will interview.

I feel confident in the direction of the search. If we can't hire a proven winner, then that is a failure on the part of the hiring committee.

That sounds pretty good, whoever we get lets hope that they continue to build our program. Tomorrow is last day to accept applications so it shouldn't be long now. Contact you source and keep all of rocketman's rocketeer's informed. You know rocketman takes pride in stuff being reported on his site first.
