well since my other topic didnt get any responses thought id try another. Just wondering how everyone thinks it will look this spring in the nwc. LCC should make it interesting with bowers and caprella(not sure if spelled right). If paulding plays like they did this summer , they could be the favorites, along with LCC, and Crestview.

LCC is loaded! they've got the leagues MVP from last year in bowers also throw in the conferences best pitcher in travis kottenbrock and you've got a dangerous club. a good supporting cast around them with caprella and stanovich they should be the team to beat, only problem is they play in the coldwater sectional with parkway, crestview, coldwater, st henry, and spencerville which is one of the best sectionals in the area. crestview should be the other team to beat with eickholt (sp?) on the mound and a very solid supporting cast around him

agree with you about LCC, who is that other pitcher kottenbrock. I wenr to the acme tourny games against paulding and dont remember that name. Does crestview have alot coming back this year, didnt seem like they lost a hole lot.

phs, yes travis kottenbrock hes not real big 5'9....160 maybe lefty that can spot any pitch anywhere. had the chance to play summer ball with him this yr ...pretty impressive. also caprella, bowers, and dj evans all pitch as well

thanks double nickle for the info on kottenbrock, and bob as far as your rankings i would have to agree with most of them. I would put paulding ahead of ada is the only one i would switch. Paulding played them very tough in the spring , and should have beat them but they couldnt get out of there own way. And for having the third best catcher im not so sure about either. He is a great hitter, but needs a lot of work behind the plate. As for struggling out of the gate , i think any team in our conference would with the teams they play over the first two weeks of the season. They play the likes of , DEFIANCE, ELIDA, LIMA SHAWNEE,CELINA,VAN WERT, AND FAIRVIEW . That has to be one of the most difficult starting schedules i know of. If they make it out of that stretch 500 they should have a good season.

heres how i see things unfolding:
1.LCC- i dont see the no field placing much this team is just loaded! could and should have the offensive POY and pitcher of the year on same field.
2.Crestview- tradition rich program with quite a few returning starters could be interesting
3.Ada- a handful of returning starters....could make some noise as long as the pitching holds up
4.Delphos Jefferson- same as above they return alot of starters but are still young....could be there downfall
5.Paulding- way it sounds the panthers had a pretty good summer as long as they can survive the killer schedule they'll be right there possibly
6.Spencerville- very few returners but could make a little noise with a couple decent pitchers
7.C-Grove- lossing bowers is big here this is probally a top 3 team with bowers in their lineup
8.Bluffton- new coach, same results here not exactly a baseball type of town there
9.Lincolnview- same ole same ole here in my opinion
10.Allen East- very few returning starters off a team who only won a few games....could be a long year for them

should be an interesting yr

well i see the panthers arent getting any love from you guys, a 4th and 5th. Im not going to talk them up and hex em, but keep a look out for smith and riley, a very good one two punch on the mound.

double nickle, not sure what school your from but you couldnt have done to well against him. I was told he went 4-1 this spring with a 1.14 era, and 5-2 this summer with one loss being to LCC with bowers, and he should have won that game. He made a few throwing errors from the mound that cost him some unearned runs. So from what i heard about the spring, and what i seen in the summer , id say theres something to be excited about.

no problem double nickle, just letting you know what ive heard and have seen, didnt mean to sounds a little testy there. Riley isnt going to over power anyone, but gets alot of ground balls. He kinda reminds me of a Gregg Maddux type.

watch out for travis kottenbrock(LCC). I had the opporunity to play summer ball with him for lima legion and he doesnt throw hard but location is amazing. He's a great young pitcher, especially only being a junior this year.

putty, lcc is the best team in the NWC (and before you jump to conclusions...i am not from lcc) they have 3 solid pitchers in travis kottenbrock...who you never saw simply because as just a junior to be in high school he was the ace on a pretty good area legion team....ive said it once and ill say it again he is the best pitcher in the NWC. caprella and bowers are great 2-3 pitchers behind him...also throw dj evans in there and you've got easily the pitching staff in the league. as bob mentioned a few posts ago what will hurt the t-birds is the no home field thing.
