It is going to be interesting to see what Kenton does. Will they hire in the system or go out and change philosophy on the offensive side of the ball.

LMAO! The Kenton school board decided not to renew ? This is amazing, and as upset as I am......I have to laugh. It' just crazy. Takes a very special erson to field the kind of teams he does in such a (lets be honest) rotten town. Made it to State in 2003 with half his team living with their grandparents cause Mama was never around. Has a lot of challenges working in such setting. Reminds Me a lot of the current situation Fostoria finds itself in. One time state power who an't win 3 games a year, after losing a legend.

If Benny stays in town He is the obvious choice. Not sure if he is staying though. They will hire from within. The townsfolk is in an uproar already, and there will be hell to pay if they bring in somebody who changes the whole system and they go 3-7. Also, it's really not a super hot job.You have all of the socio economical challenges coupled with a fan base that is very unrealistic, and lacking basic football understanding. That combo can be a very serious headache to a new coach.

Totally unbelievable.

This super and board will go down in history as the most inept group of people ever to run a school system. Hopefully, this isn't totally a done deal. Lots of rumors. Don't think they (super,board) had any idea of the kind of sh!t storm they were about to get into. The parents, kids and townsfolk are going crazy on twitter and Facebook etc.

What makes all of you think that maybe the Mauks (Mike and Benny) weren't going to go anyway? If I was retirement age...and my son and daughter both lived in Missouri and one of them is going to be the starting QB on a top 5 team, I'm fairly certain I may do the same thing. As for Benny....how do you know he wanted to coach at Kenton the rest of his life? Maybe he has aspirations of bigger things....or maybe he just wanted a fresh start after spending all but 4 years of his life in Kenton. Let's face it...Kenton isn't at the top of anyone's list of "retirement destinations". Why not move closer to your family, get to see your daughter every day and be 2 hours from your son when he's playing football on Saturday's. So what if Maty goes pro....Mike will be 3 years further into retirement and can move again if he wants to. It's not like he's pulling 4 HS aged kids out of school to move to Missouri.
