I know it has been awhile since our past rankings, but Rocketman and myself get into a relaxed mode during the holidays........we put in quite a few hours during the summer months and taking in scrimmages and games as the season starts.......even the 'whiz kids' need a break once in awhile....

Well our second addition will have a few surprises for sure......it is good to see Landess back in action and I am interested to hear from our biggest critic once he views 'Rocketman and Flounder's' latest
rankings.....his opinion is always valued......but sometimes ignored....

Now that the new year is upon us, I am sure the timing of our rankings will be much more consistent.....and you will not have to wait another 6 weeks for the rankings to hit the press......so sit back in your chair a take a gander at the best edition of girls high school rankings in the state of Ohio.....and like I have said many times in the past..."We Know Girls High School Basketball"

Any Comments are appreciated and I am sure Rocketman will be along soon with his version!!!!!

Zanesville Maysville over Dresden Tri-Valley 63-26 tonight. Just for your information Warsaw River View's record is now 8-5 with a win over Dover tonight. Zanesville Rosecrans also won tonight over New Philadelphia 61-32. Was also thinking that Johnstowm-Monroe is DII this year.

Bozo.....

I had Johnstown-Monroe as D2, but Maxpreps has them listed in D3......so, I may just rank them in both polls...lol!!!!!!!!

Well better late than never like Bob Doo is used to saying......not a whole lot changes in my rankings from the first time as I believe I have them pretty much in the correct order.....I want to thank Flounder for starting this because quite candidly.. I've been super busy since before the holidays......got to take Mrs. RM for the second time to Punta Cana after Christmas and we are now just getting over our sunburns.....it also seems like the RC is devoid of girls chatter this season, so I'm glad to see Landess is back.... :coffee: ......getting amped up for the CITC to be held in Amish Country in a few weeks and we will have game-day coverage for at least the Sat. and Sunday tilts, courtesy of Josh Morgret......have to say that the overall level of play is also down considerably in this area.....Crestview looks pretty good and Lima Bath has another nice team, per the usual....Statewide the talent is off the charts with some exceptional girls who will be playing at the next level.....DON'T forget to enter the "Weatherman's Contest" that we have going on......some outstanding prizes and if you are lucky enough to beat out some of the talented individuals who will be entering, well let's just say that you will have bragging rights that can't be taken away.....well, I've got to get my driveway plowed out so that I can be prepared for the bitter cold that is going to take hold of this area in the next day........so stay safe, stay warm, and for gosh sakes....keep following our rankings.... :hifive2: ..........Statewide Division I

Rocketman:
You really think there are 11 better D4 teams than Convoy Crestview?? Just asking.
IMO, I don't think so at all. Flounder didn't think so.....

Bauer and Motycka are two of the best players in the Lima area....and the balance on that team is pretty good. Mercer, Riggenbach, Crowle....great 3 point shooting team as well.

Ottawa Glandorf is ranked #9 in the AP poll (with one 1st place vote!).......yet cannot crack flounder and rocketman's rankings.

I agree with Rocketman. I think flounder has Crestview ranked too high. Those girls you named CTX, may be the best in the Lima area, but these are the state rankings. I think Crestview has a nice team, but they wouldn't crack my top 10 at this point yet.

my sentiments exactly........... :) .....I want to remind everyone that they have less than 10 days to make their picks for this year's CITC "Weatherman's" Contest........20 games on the ticket, just pick the winners!......how easy can it be?......Costs absolutely nothing to enter with the chance to win some great prizes..........RM

Rocket- just FYI both Orrville and Lake Ridge Acad are WAY down this year in NE Ohio. Orrville sent their heart and their scoring to Ashland and Akron respectively, and Lake Ridge was something like 90% senior scoring last year and only played about 7. I'd be shocked to see either of them get out of their district.

And down my way, D2 Zanesville Maysville seems legit. They are destroying just about everyone, including some pretty decent competition. To be honest, it would take a perfectly executed game plan that included foul trouble to beat West Holmes in the regional final, but if there is a team in the SE that has the athletes to pull it off, its this one.

Maysville over Philo 67-46 last night. tflogangel, I agree with your assessment of Maysville and West Holmes too. What I don't understand about the AP poll is how is Maysville not even mentioned? 34 straight wins in the regular season and 37 out of their last 38 games. Only loss during that span was in the District Finals against West Holmes last year by only 10 points.

Bozo........

You are not comparing apples to apples when comparing the AP poll to Rocketman and Flounders polls........remember..we know girls basketball......while the AP makes fruitless claims.......no one researches statewide girls hoops like we do........period!!!!!!

jmo but I don't compare the AP Poll to yours! Sportswriters (and I use the term loosely) don't care about girls basketball and I can tell you about some of the teams they have listed as to how they compare to Maysville. I know for a fact that one of the teams listed in the top 10 in DII refused to play Maysville because "They are too good for us". You don't have them listed in your poll. So please don't think I'm comparing you guys to the AP Poll.
