Just for fun, what if North Lewisburg Triad, Arlington, Norwalk St. Paul and Gloucester Trimble win? Do you think they would rebracket? Consult an Ohio map before you answer. To me, in that scenario it would seem obvious to have Trimble vs. Triad and Arlington vs. St. Paul.
I believe that in this case the OHSAA would determine that "re-bracketing" would be deemed appropriate...... :)

I think they need to rotate the districts like they do for state basketball and deal with the results. Big deal if teams have a long drive....they are in the final 4....I dont think they'll mind.

They should never rebracket to play favorites on who is "supposedly" the best 2 teams. That's just stupid. You can rebracket out of need to save on travel costs and the like, but that's about it.

Even better. Ironically, I think that movie was based off of rural West Virginia, which isn't too far away or any different.

If you listen very hard, you can hear the banjos warming up for this big weekend event. I wonder if it is hard to march and play a stinged instrument?

They march with many instruments. I can think of a few that they march with that creates a loud repercussion from great distance.

Shadyside in D7 is comparable to the smart kid on the short bus...... They play no one, they don't get tested during the year, and they actually believe they are good. MAC still has 3 schools in the playoffs and all will be in the final 4 after tonight is over. The real crime here is that next week the state champions will be named at the game between marion local and DSJ. Warm up the pickup trucks for that trek to Massillon or Canton again Shadyside. It would be like Custer returning to scene of the Little Big Horn...... for a 3rd time.

I just found out the SELF PROCLAIMED best team Shadyside has ever had just lost....21-14. Their inbred cousins from down the river smacked them in the mouth and knocked out their last remaining tooth. Have a nice off season Tigers at least this season didn't end 77-6 like the last "BEST Team you ever had".

@Bluetiger.... No one will give Trimble any $hit because they aren't dumb enough to talk it. S.S actually tried to blame the wind on why they lost to Marion Local yrs ago. If you were at the DSJ game in 2010 like I was you would know that in the 3rd Q DSJ had freshman playing and they were still beating the crud out of the S.S starters. If you talk it and lose then you deserve to get it back. That's how it works.

Where was their vaunted mean and nasty O-line that averaged 6 foot 270 lbs? Only scoring a mere 14 points against the team that you said you would mop the field with makes it look really like they must have gone to the buffet early. I can not wait to hear how the wind must have derailed the Tigers again and that it only blew when Shadyside had the ball.

In a way, I feel bad about Shadyside.....they are no different than any other high school football team in Ohio....they go undefeated and their fans boast just like any other undefeated high school team........

The thing that really grinds on me is that they were totally dominated by ML and especially DSJ, but instead of giving credit, they went out and verbally attacked the 2 teams that soundly defeated them.....something like, that should never have happened.....DSJ recruits and if the wind wasn't blowing like tornado winds then Shadyside would have beaten ML......face it...excuses make you weak, and that is why no one respects Shadyside and that section of the state.......they were soundly beaten and yet they just could not understand it.......How About Giving The Other Team Some Credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well said Flounder, gave you a thumbs up on this one.

Just would add........this also works well when you "win" as well. Win with class. Act like you've been there. Don't make your community look just as bad (as Shadyside) when you win.

JMHO brothers!

air and some fans of the other teams question why St Johns had their starters I'm at the beginning of 4th quarter in 2010 state title game. I think he wanted to get his running back another touchdown since he didn't make Allstate team because he left the games early because St. Johns blew out so many teams that year. Meanwhile Thompson-Ledgemont- a team that finished with one win that year put 9 players on all state teams. That's right a team that finished with one win from the eastern part of Ohio put 9 players on the All State team while the obvious number one and undefeated team St. Johns had like 4 or 5 players make all state. and when St John's took out their starters Shadyside kept theirs in and were trying to get a meaningless score. Then St. Johns offensive backups scored 3 Touchdowns on long plays against Shadyside starters. St. Johns was kneeling down with 5 minutes left in game.

A little about D-6 Mechanicsburg, Wayne Traces's opponent:

Mechanicsburg is led by junior tailback Aeryton Erwin (5-8, 155), Junior fullback Joe Ziegler (5-7, 145) Freshman Kaleb Romero (5-7, 160) is the signal-caller.

This size player is typical in most small schools outside the MAC and a hand full of others. This is why most people outside this area really don't think much of small school football.

I guess we all need to thank our good and hearty german ancestors who decided to settle here and build a canal. A 145 lb fullback just does not cut it.

No, this size isn't typical. Not at all. Just check some of the rosters of the D6 finalists over the years and you won't see anything like that.

You want me to check the finalist? That is the MAC most years and the handfull of exceptions in the small school divisions, which do not make up the majority of schools. I would suggest you start looking at the rosters of the rest of the small schools. Much more tipical of the Mechanicsburg kids.
