This conversation started with the RM asking how much longer Cooper can hang on to his job.......

the LCC faithful, rightfully so wondered what I had against "the Patron St. of Football", that being the aforementioned Coach Coop...
1. he's a good coach
2. he surrounds himself with good coaches
3. he is very innovative in his offenses
4. his players seem to like playing for him.....at all of his previous stops B)
5. the fans and parents enjoy winning almost as much as the players, not caring how this is accomplished while he is there

6. he acts like a spoiled brat on the sidelines
7. his language that is directed towards officials, etc. is something to behold :shrug2:
8. the last two points negate all of the previous 5 good traits about the man........

that pretty much sums it up...........zooooom
NW, I thought I had explained some of the virtues that Coach Cooper possesses in this previous post.......and one you had responded to I might add.....I am beginning to think that 1) you are a very close relative, 2) maybe a coach or faculty member, 3) a very die-hard fan of LCC and Coach Cooper......naw, I don't believe this one.. :coffee: or 4) or possibly even the One...........while I admire your sticking up for the Coach of the Tbirds, even LCC fans are growing weary of his act.......RM

NWOHIOFBFAN, I believe coaches who are bashed on here on a regular basis must look at their behavior as the cause. I can't recall Seg ever being criticized on here.....EVER. Therefore, get your blinders off and be a positive force to require LCC to get control of their coach. If you think this is proper behavior, then I question your values. [sorry] His behavior over the years has been very consistent and not in a good way. In fact, it seems to have gotten worse over the years. At Bath, people just thought he was a arrogant jerk. At CG he started showing some new "bad" behaviors. At LCC he has perfected them. My child/children would never be allowed to play for this guy because kids need great role models during these teenage years. LJ

How ironic this is.........almost exactly 1 year ago we were discussing LCC getting kicked out of the NWC :( ......fast forward and today we're talking about the other shoe dropping........now we've got a lot of the LCC faithful saying that this will never happen, as winning cures all ills.....on the other hand we have some pretty sharp people on the RC who can see this happening......I can't think of a reason why LCC administration would do this now, but I just can't see them looking past the latest escapades..............I wonder if any of those officials happened to catch any of his antics in the locker room on video? :wedgie:

Sounds like the RM knows something that he's not telling????? Video? Possibly we are still talking about the same topic as last year "LCC getting kicked out of the NWC" But now the root cause has been identified. Cooper started the recruiting

Not saying that a video does indeed exist...just some thinking on my part is "if
one exists" and maybe the ohsaa is in possession, would LCC do anything if one did exist?
I heard the language was very colorful to say the least...

I think coach cooper was humbled a little and did apologize via email (I have it). He did make some valid points about the officials (some were not even qualified to be there) but I think he knows the way he went about expressing himself was wrong. That said, I think he plans on coaching 3-4 more years.

I think this proves that Rocketman is CLUELESS. Hey Rocketman do you really think that LCC is going to give a guy who just went 37-3 over the past 4 regular seasons a hard time. Let me repeat Rocketman is CLUELESS
the announcement today has me scratching my head just a bit.....leaving to go to Tenn?.....or escorted quietly to the door? More digging now needs to be done, especially with the ground thawed out ...

He told several people that Tenn. was his goal because the retirement systems of Ohio and Tenn reciprocate... He and his wife can get jobs and they lose nothing in retirement... Old news...

He will probably not get kick out of any more youth baseball games as his son is no longer in youth sports and hasn't been for going on 2 years now

By the way I hope Palte goes to Delphos (or somewhere else). That way can get the LCC Defense back and not the give up 7 yards a run Defense

Rocketman

Well, I've started it I guess.......with 2 stunning losses to begin the season and possibly a few more tacked on

by season's end..........is this the end of the Cooper saga?

Past history has shown that Flyin' the Coop is his past M.O.
Some would say that he is being even more demonstrative (if that's possible ;) ) on the sidelines this season....
The referees are starting to make a stand and pulling out the yellow hanky on a pretty consistent basis
concerning his behavior..........

This can only end badly for LCC and Coach Cooper........I clearly remember back when I had just graduated from
high school when a certain coach at a very prominent University lost control on the sidelines after a particularly
bad performance by his team in a bowl game.......this coach was loved and revered by the fans, but even they
knew after this happened that something needed to be done..........is LCC at this juncture yet?.......how do they
proceed?.........Are they to take the high road and maybe slap him with a one or two game suspension?.....will the
OHSAA become eventually involved?.......

It's certainly didn't help his cause that Coach Fell returned to his hometown to resurrect the Lima Spartans program,
now did it?........people are actually talking Spartans football in the local eateries and drinkeries in town :hifive2:
Going out to the Beer Barrel, J's Pub, Fat Jack's, etc. they are now talking Spartans football, and the LCC story is
second page news..........THAT can't be setting good in Cooper's mind......I said on another thread that I'm calling it
here first...........This is the end of the road and their coach-in-waiting won't be waiting much longer........

Now you'll hear it on all of the local media outlets that he has decided to retire to spend more time with family or some
other sort of nonsense........and you'll hear that this has been the plan all along or somewhat similar.........but as readers
of the RC, I know that you'll be able to see through the smoke............zoooooom

Badlands
Bobby, you must have been the person who forgot, to seal up the bag.....Rocketman must be a genius. I think the cat is out of the bag.....For the record I am so glad I did not post the Rocketmans truth...I would have been a dart board..for telling some people what they do not want to hear.....hence coach in waiting... :coffee: ...sudden retirement....

NW Ohio Football Fan

Rocketman Based on this post and the many others just like it You are an idiot. It is obvious that sometime soon Coach Cooper will retire and leave LCC, and you want to act like you are making some bold prediction. The real question is why do you have such deep seated hatred for LCC and Coach Cooper. You are always trying to fabricate controversy. Why do you think Cooper had LCC hire Palte as the coach in waiting? Sounds to me like you are about a year behind the times on your prediction.

LCC loses a game to a solid Delphos Jefferson team and according to you all of a sudden the LCC football program is dead. You way underestimate the LCC kids and Coach Cooper. Even you rocketman are smart enough to figure out that a season is based on all 10 regular season games. I would say the kids at LCC that have been (42-7) over the past four seasons will not fade away as easily as you hope they will. You forget that their best athlete has yet to play a game. Their best lineman is out for the season with a knee injury. I think 4 other starters missed games with minor injuries. No smoke here: The proof is you are an idiot.

Lima Jock
Rocket,You make comments about this coach that are not valid or recorded. It's not like he was ever thrown out at a youth game.........never mind. LJ

Maltese Falcon
farther south.......much farther.

Rocketman
Lane Kiffin-like south?

Rocketman
I would expect news in the ongoing saga on LCC's situation sometime during the state finals weekend.......like when I started this thread I do feel that the end is very near for Mr. Cooper at LCC......whether he ends up in some warmer southern clime enjoying his final days of coaching or whether there is some other school administration somewhere who will look past his boorish behavior, I don't know.......

Maltese Falcon
Yeah, I heard Coop chased the officials off the field........it was this kind of behavior that greased the skids for Chris Adams exit from Elida and looks to be the same for Coop. Temperament aside the two coaches have a lot in common when it comes to post season performance, or lack thereof.

FearTheElf
If he went into the Ref's locker room after the game and berated them and OHSAA as has been reported in this thread, then I suppose given previous complaints made by refs a suspension could be rendered for next year???????

Rocketman
We are hearing that indeed he has coached his last game at LCC.....not sure when Koza will be breaking this news to his audience.....Coach Palte is poised to take over the reins. No word on his future plans just yet....we are waterboarding our sources and hope to have more answers soon......

FearTheElf
Well it's been 9 hours since this proclamation, nothing on Koza show, nothing I've heard elsewhere, maybe you should reveal your sources???

NW Ohio Football Fan
I been hearing that Coach Cooper is negotiating a four year deal that takes him through coaching at LCC until his son graduates. Looks like all the supposed inside info is not so accurate.

Rocketman

If that is the case, how many more youth baseball games will he be banned from?

I stand by my prediction.... maybe I'm just too stupid to change it.......RM

Slice Slice Baby
I'm not sure whom RM's sources are, but, mine from within the LCC camp are saying he's going nowhere for now., fwiw.
Guess we'll all find out sooner or later.

FearTheElf
My sources say a letter of apology was emailed to Parents & Faculty, quite interesting reading I'm told. They did not know if this was pre-emtive punishment for OHSAA to consider or if there is more to come. He however is not going anywhere anytime soon......

Rocketman
Elf, I took your advice and emailed Coach Cooper .....whether he responds or not is to be determined......thanks RM

NW Ohio Football Fan
Looks like your sources let you down Rocketman. I am glad that you are a self aware man.

After going back through this thread I've picked out a few of the more "colorful" responses by some of our members concerning Coach Cooper.......

And now since the curtain has drawn on this sordid saga we will all await the eagerly awaited interview with Koza this evening......I cannot wait for this.....RM
