Seems like a logical and mature way to debate to me! "I can't hear you! Nana nana boo boo, stick your head in doo doo :P"
Haha I'm not debating. I would also like to point out that you said "logical and mature". Those words aren't used on rocketcorner.

DSJ wasn't #1 everywhere, picked as a 30 point favorite, etc. in those games though. I'm pretty sure that's his point. Cooper's teams can win all they want in the regular season, but when it really counts, they choke.

What idiot would make any match-up between decent teams a 30 point fovorite. You are comparing Div 6 footbal vs Div V football enough said. A couple of those Div 6 state titles atleast 10 teams from Div V would have won every playoff game in that Division. But pound your chest all you want LCC still beat the Jays 3 times in a row. and 4 out of 7 since 2007

Choke is being so arrogant that you gave away a state title because you refuse to kick a FG that would have put the Norwalk St Paul game out of reach.

No offense, but St. Paul pretty much controlled that game minus their own missed opportunities and mistakes. DSJ pretty much had to scratch and claw just to stay into the game and make it as much of a nail biter as it was, so to say anything DSJ did that day was out of "arrogance" seems a bit... :shrug2:

As far as the rest....I couldn't really follow what you were saying outside of DV is better than DVI...which is kind of the obvious. :coffee:

And where was LCC when DSJ was in the position to win a state championship? Practicing basketball like they have every year.

Since 2007, LCC has had 0 losing seasons. One 5-5 season, One 8-2 season, two 9-1 seasona and 2 10-0 seasons. And what do they have to show for all that success? 1 regional title.

Since 2007, DSJ has had 1 losing season. One 2-8 season, One 8-2 season, two 10-0 seasons, one 7-3 season and a 6-4 season. And what does DSJ have to show for it? 2 state titles, 1 runners up, 4 regional titles, and a regional runners up.

I will take playoff success rather than your regular season wins any day of the week :)

PS you're quick to discredit DVI football, but yet, when LCC went 8-2 and 9-1, all of their losses were to DVI teams.. Not to mention the one year LCC did absolutely anything in the playoffs they got pounded by a DVI team by 20 points :)

DSJ led 21-17 in that game. A made FG makes it 24-17. Not out of reach at all.

To say DSJ had to scratch and claw just to stay in the game is a bit of a stretch. DSJ led 21-10 after three quarters. Late in the game DSJ was pushing NSP down the field but a penalty and a good defensive play by NSP prevented the clinching TD.

This conversation started with the RM asking how much longer Cooper can hang on to his job.......

the LCC faithful, rightfully so wondered what I had against "the Patron St. of Football", that being the aforementioned Coach Coop...
1. he's a good coach
2. he surrounds himself with good coaches
3. he is very innovative in his offenses
4. his players seem to like playing for him.....at all of his previous stops B)
5. the fans and parents enjoy winning almost as much as the players, not caring how this is accomplished while he is there
6. he acts like a spoiled brat on the sidelines
7. his language that is directed towards officials, etc. is something to behold ;)
8. the last two points negate all of the previous 5 good traits about the man........

that pretty much sums it up...........zooooom

Rocket,You make comments about this coach that are not valid or recorded. It's not like he was ever thrown out at a youth game.........never mind. LJ

That's why I said due to their own mistakes. NSP moved the ball entirely at their own will. They may have barely won the game, but they controlled it. They had 430 total yards of offense compared to DSJ's 176 total yards.

All that playoff success is still Div VI Big difference between Youngstown Ursuline and Shadyside or Liberty Benton and Edgerton or Ottawa Hills.

Playoff success is playoff success, no matter the division. To think it should be discredited because it happened in a smaller division is arrogant and unwarranted. I'd never go so far as to discredit anyone's playoff success, especially if it's better than Coldwater's--and ours is pretty damn good.

9. You failed to mention all the positives that come along with playing for someone who is passionate and driven. Many players gain that same competitive passion which is hard to find these days.
10. The players love a coach that wil stand up for them and is not afrad of what others think.

No one is all good or all bad. Question does the good outweigh the bad? Not even close in my opinion.

I'm not sure who this guy is, but he's clearly a kid or of the same intellectual capacity. By his logic, no playoff success should matter unless it is D1. He clearly doesn't understand the concept of divisions or why they exist in the first place. Based on his responses in this thread, he's not representative of LCC as a whole. Just ignore him.

Now that we have gotten to week #10 of the high school football season the question is still out there........

With a LCC loss Saturday night, does Coach Jerry Cooper make it back for the 2014 season?
