Well, I've started it I guess.......with 2 stunning losses to begin the season and possibly a few more tacked on
by season's end..........is this the end of the Cooper saga?

Past history has shown that Flyin' the Coop is his past M.O.
Some would say that he is being even more demonstrative (if that's possible ;) ) on the sidelines this season....
The referees are starting to make a stand and pulling out the yellow hanky on a pretty consistent basis
concerning his behavior..........

This can only end badly for LCC and Coach Cooper........I clearly remember back when I had just graduated from
high school when a certain coach at a very prominent University lost control on the sidelines after a particularly
bad performance by his team in a bowl game.......this coach was loved and revered by the fans, but even they
knew after this happened that something needed to be done..........is LCC at this juncture yet?.......how do they
proceed?.........Are they to take the high road and maybe slap him with a one or two game suspension?.....will the
OHSAA become eventually involved?.......

It's certainly didn't help his cause that Coach Fell returned to his hometown to resurrect the Lima Spartans program,
now did it?........people are actually talking Spartans football in the local eateries and drinkeries in town :hifive2:
Going out to the Beer Barrel, J's Pub, Fat Jack's, etc. they are now talking Spartans football, and the LCC story is
second page news..........THAT can't be setting good in Cooper's mind......I said on another thread that I'm calling it
here first...........This is the end of the road and their coach-in-waiting won't be waiting much longer........

Now you'll hear it on all of the local media outlets that he has decided to retire to spend more time with family or some
other sort of nonsense........and you'll hear that this has been the plan all along or somewhat similar.........but as readers
of the RC, I know that you'll be able to see through the smoke............zoooooom

Must be slow around here. Time to stir up some controversy to get some traffic going. The obsession some people have with Jerry Cooper and LCC is getting kind of creepy.

Some might see it as creepy. I see it as he reaps what he sows. :coffee:

Personally, I think Cooper will "leave on his own terms" as they might like to put it, but I think he will be feeling the pressure by the time he leaves.

Yes, I think LCC's talent, as a WHOLE, is somewhat down this year compared to previous years as a WHOLE.

Yes, I think Jerry is realizing this even with his superstar WRs and DBs.

Yes, I think even some of LCC's players are getting tired of his antics causing them to take plays off and not play 100%.

Yes, I think Fell and Lima Senior quickly improving as a program is riding in the back of his head in terms of his future at LCC.

Yes, I also think Elida's recent success and the Perry football program actually looking more competitive and athletic, despite their record, is also lingering.

Yes, I think the LCC fans will eventually pass enough rumblings through the business sectors and K of C to start rumors and apply pressure that they otherwise never would have as long as they got the Ws...just because...that's LCC.

Do I think he leaves this year?....no clue. He will eventually(obviously), but seeing Jerry's age, I almost have to wonder if this saga of self destruction has reached a point where he might actually retire, as opposed to swinging to another ship with more gold on it in a Pirates of the Caribbean kind of style. Hard to say.

Bucki, great post. I will add on that the NWC appears to be much better this year as well. I think its a mixed bag of both. There is still talent in the well. They will be ok, maybe not this year though. They set such lofty expectations for themselves this season, it might have bit them. That's usually what happens when you outcry how good you're going to be. Anyway, if the trend continues, look for LCC to stop scheduling around here, and go out further to get more wins.

Now wait a minute...JB said that the NWC is not very good. I said the league was balanced and he said it was a nice way to say that all teams were bad.
Now that DJ beats down...let me repeat...BEATS DOWN the T-Birds people change their look.

I think the question should be asked. Who needed who worse. NWC need LCC? Or did LCC really need the NWC membership?

They didn't belong together. Each was fine before the union, and each will be after.

LCC never gets any better after the first game of the season. They stay on the same level all year long.

Meh, I would say the NWC is probably about as equal as last year as a whole, maybe slightly better. DJ is better in most aspects, although slightly down in a few niche areas. Ada is still a toss up...probably about equal as last year. Spencer is probably slightly down. Grove is way down, but will improve a little as the season goes on. Crestview is probably a little better this year. Paulding is about the same, but will pick up some wins via scheduling. Bluffton has some nice players on their team and will continue to improve as the season goes on...they have had some issues with slow starts, but otherwise, I think they are improved. Allen East seems a little more competitive.

I think the cat is out of the bag.....For the record I am so glad I did not post the Rocketmans truth...I would have been a dart board..for telling some people what they do not want to hear.....hence coach in waiting... :coffee: ...sudden retirement....

Bobby,
Controversy follows Coach Cooper like your shadow under a street lamp.......I would like to say also that I don't have an obsession, or for that matter even a man-crush
on him.......it might seem creepy to some and you've mentioned this before, but I am just pointing out the obvious.........

Rocketman Based on this post and the many others just like it You are an idiot. It is obvious that sometime soon Coach Cooper will retire and leave LCC, and you want to act like you are making some bold prediction. The real question is why do you have such deep seated hatred for LCC and Coach Cooper. You are always trying to fabricate controversy. Why do you think Cooper had LCC hire Palte as the coach in waiting? Sounds to me like you are about a year behind the times on your prediction.

LCC loses a game to a solid Delphos Jefferson team and according to you all of a sudden the LCC football program is dead. You way underestimate the LCC kids and Coach Cooper. Even you rocketman are smart enough to figure out that a season is based on all 10 regular season games. I would say the kids at LCC that have been (42-7) over the past four seasons will not fade away as easily as you hope they will. You forget that their best athlete has yet to play a game. Their best lineman is out for the season with a knee injury. I think 4 other starters missed games with minor injuries. No smoke here: The proof is you are an idiot.

Didn't LCC play Delphos St Johns week 2. I think this is the third year in a row that the Thunderbirds beat the Blue Jays.
