I think 12 teams is fine, but I thought the "plans" were to expand to 14...and while everybody else seemed to be mentioning their "dream teams"....

I really don't think the west schools approving any eastern teams would be any different than North Baltimore voting for Ada to join...or any southern school voting for a school like Patrick Henry or Elmwood (all of these schools have been mentioned at one point or another). SOMEBODY is always going to be at the opposite side of the conference when expanding outward. What makes one side of the conference any more important than any other?

Its called geographic balance. Some conferences have always had it and others have always been jealous of it.

Know anyone?

Vanlue and Hardin Northern should probably just join the NWCC. They added some southern schools Fort Loramie, Sidney Lehman but I don't see that as long term. They should add the Lue and HN along with Perry, USV, Riverside, Waynesfield Goshen, and Ridgemont. Giving them 7 teams that are all about the same size of enrollment.
See below.

There's a big difference between jealousy and something that makes sense.

They added two the east side of the league.... how does adding 2 more in that direction make sense?

Truthfully NONE of those listed above are likely to jump into the BVC. But I'll bet you a bag of popcorn the west side of the league will get the first and biggest push.

Seriously, I doubt we'll see Carey join the BVC...I was just throwing it out there as my first choice. The more we all look for teams to add, the more it makes sense to keep it at 12.

USV dosen't even want to be in that league any more. Not sure where they'd go though. BVC already said thanks but no thanks.

Something to chew on. What if HN plays football in the NWCC but holds dual membership for all other sports?

I have not thought about this.. But this makes a TON of sense to me.. Many schools play in two leagues actually a few in the league already (CG, PG,Leip) why not stay in the BVC if its tradition they want to keep but compete in both in other sports.. Competing in NWCC in football seems to be a win for everyone BVC doesn't have to deal with this type if thing, the NWCC gets another school they can compete with in all sports and HN won't get beat by 50 every week..

Its not a bad idea...but it may eventually not be a decision that HN will make. Its possible the other BVC teams may determine HN's ultimate fate in the BVC. JMO.

Ok this is a little off topic but what is the status of the Riverdale-Arlington season-opener after this year, given that both teams are going to be in the same league. Maybe this has already been discussed & I missed it...

Perry and WG in NWC won't happen.

And thats too bad. Perry and WG would get better gates. Current NWC teams get league games they can win as opposed to the one they couldn't win in years past. More league games makes life easier for the ADs since finding games is you know...a major pain in the ***. And an already strong track conference adds WG who has been cranking out kids that can compete with anybody.

It still wouldn't shock me to see the "haves" of the BVC leave the "have nots" and form their own league with another school or two.

There's still a lot of unrest out there. Several leagues still with seven schools, several schools are odd fits with their new leagues, several schools are odd fits with their existing league, one conference has four football playing schools.....something's gotta give. Many we're forced into quick decisions or 3-2 board votes. Lots of coaches not overly pleased.

I think over time the old MAL will be missed by many of the departed.

Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

Especially since the Sandusky River League seems to be having trouble getting off the ground.

It seems a bit silly for the "haves" and "have nots" to split up, just for the sake of competitive balance. Just a few years ago, HN was at the top of the "haves" in football, now they wouldn't make the cut. All conferences have their good and bad teams, and those teams don't always stay at the top or the bottom. You might also remember that football is not the only sport that play for conference titles. A school might be great at football, but struggle in every other sport. It makes no sense to me because in a few years there could very easily be a team from the "have nots" that could beat the champion of the "haves". Are we going to keep shuffling the deck til we get the right hand?
