No doubt, and that's why I applaud the decision, it's in the "best interest" of the program. Not for the other BVC schools, not for 2013, but for the future of the program. I just wish the decision would have been made earlier. Then again, most schools schedules were set at the end of last season.

They were a D6 school last year(D7 this year with 86 boys enrolled) Here is a link to last years schedule and results: http://www.joeeitel....2012&teamID=786

Another catholic school with rapidly shrinking enrollment....had some state qualifying teams in the past. Will be about a 4-hour drive for them.

Okay.....the new flavor of the week for Liberty-Benton is Decatur Michigan. I believe they went 9-3 last year and 6-4 the previous year. They have an enrollment of 758 kids for the grades 9-12. They are about 3 hours and 15 minutes away, and LB would travel to their location on a Saturday. I hope this one pans out, we will see.

When isn't Pandora in for a long night? Not a well know powerhouse.

McComb, L-b, Arcadia are the only three left without a game. Playoff wise would l- b be better off not playing and the divisor be 9? Was told also by a parent that H-N would've had 15 returning players if their would've been a coaching change and add the 12-13 underclassmen do the math and you have 28 players, as the saga goes it looks like more and more H-N administration chose not to have football !

Not sure there would have been 15 returning starters. Second, of those 15, or so, many would have still struggled to compete and complete a season. Third, who would they hire? They tried and nobody wanted it without a teaching position available.

I didn't say starters, returning. Secondly, competing is relative to who you're comparing to- I 'm just strictly talking fielding a team, and your contractual obligations. You could make a case half the league this year will struggle competing and some completing. Lastly they just hired a male fifth grade teacher in late June so again don't go there with song nobody is available, they had a social studies position open earlier ,that's tuff combination to find.

The simplistic brush with which you paint everything tells me you don't understand the dynamics involved in a situation like this. Too many in that community think that people are beating down the door to coach there. Any rational person knows that's not true - far from it, in fact. Furthermore, it's much easier to place a teacher in a classroom at the last minute than it is to hire a coach. They're not valid comparisons. I don't know anything about the AD/social studies teacher, but what if he didn't coach football? Should he be forced to just because?

Your simplistic brush that you used there proved that you never understood the dynamic of the situation or you would have made it a better place to coach.

I am hearing of some realignment for the 2014 and 2015 season (stepped up a season). Riverdale will join the BVC and Hardin Northern will be out until no earlier than 2016. They will be invited back in then if they can field a team. Also heard the BVC has "upped" the penalty for not fielding a team for a given game. Penalty will now be $5,000 per game missed, which would equate to $50,000 per season. Anyone else hearing these rumblings?
