Some of the NWC schools were a little to worried about the color of a player's skin rather than anything else. You wouldn't believe some of the things said on the field/court and in the stands. Or maybe you would or were some of the people saying those things.

by the way. I'm not from LCC. I've been fortunate enough to watch some of their teams over the past few years. What great kids, coaches and community.
WOW!!! And people wonder why some folks are sick of TBird talk here on the corner. Give me a break!

lol this whole website is comical. Its like a bunch of 55 year old children bitching about Highschool sports. If those were your kids, your school and your community, every one of you would be just as proud. Get over it....congrats to the TBIRDS.

Rocket,

Considering all of the trash talking on this forum and the LCC haters in the NW Conference, I thought the ad
was a great summary of the T-Birds superiority while in the league. As they say, "Ball Don't Lie". Every statement
in the ad was factual although some of those Columbus Grove fans on the RC will likely disagree with the facts.

I think you may have given the 'Birds a little too much credit, however in your post, this was only their 6th Don Bachman Award in 8 years and not their 7th. The LCC success was not just in athletics as an ad in last week's Lima News highlighted three members of this year's senior class who were accepted into Princeton, Yale, and the Wharton School of Business at Penn. Not too shabby. These three students were also athletes. It's not bragging when you can back it up.

The last sentence in the add says it all. . . ."The Thunderbird Legacy Will Be Hard To Beat ! " LCC is leaving the NWC in style just as their ad states. Congrats to the T-Birds for their accomplishments while in the NWC.

JB

I think this past year Columbus Grove was ranked in the top 20-25 , not sure where, in education academics in the entire STATE of Ohio,(best of any school in the area) and top 500 in the nation. So JB jump on the LCC bandwagon, and gloat about being the best in a conference, you are no longer a part of. Grove will take the top 20 ranking in the STATE!

That could be, but Vouchers MIGHT have played a part in that as well. The only thing I ever have thought/said was if they were Catholic or Not

If you're tired of hearing about LCC, talk to the person who started this topic.

This obsession/hatred of LCC has gone far beyond ridiculous considering most of those who are participating are "adults".

Wow just saw the LSCC add in the sLima News. All I can say is that is the biggest douche move that could have been made. The funny thing is the NWC has had an All- Sports award long before it was named after Don Bachman. Most people didn't know about or care about that award. Until a certain school started to thump their chest and tell us all how great they are. So long and good luck finding a new conference.

Congrats to Columbus Grove for being ranked in the Top 20 high schools in Ohio, that is an accomplishment
to be proud of for sure. Just curious to know how far down the list was LCC. Where do they rank on the list and did they even
make the top 100 ? While you are checking your data, what was the highest ranked parochial school listed and did any
parochial school in Ohio make the top 20 along with Columbus Grove ?

I am assuming you did look at data that compared both public and private schools, correct ? To exclude all Parochial/private
schools from the rankings would be like recalculating the Bachman Award For Excellence and considering only public schools wouldn't it? Hey,
that would have solved a lot of bitching on this Forum, allow LCC to remain in the Conference, just make them ineligible to win any titles or
post season awards.

I don't believe I was "gloating" about LCC being the best in the NWC, I was congratulating them on winning the Don Bachman Award For Excellence for the 6th time in the 7 years they were eligible for it. Not really jumping on their bandwagon either. . .hell, I'm a public school guy. Never attended LCC, nor did my kids, who are Elida grads and I was raised in central Ohio. I will say that I have friends from LCC and I respect
what the school has accomplished in academics as well as athletics and it just pisses me off with all of the crap that is spewed on this forum against the T-Birds by posters like you and your ilk.

You obviously haven't seen the racial makeup of Columbus Grove lately. There are many Asians, Hispanics, and African-American students at Grove. Not sure what the percentage is...but it's much higher than it was 20 years ago.

To be fair outside of the lima area, lcc was hated far before the issue of race came into play. cooper going from grove to lcc just heated it up.

Anyone who honestly "hates" a high school needs to find a hobby.

The question that should be asked is "How can Allen East and Paulding finish so low that consistantly?"

Cutting through all the other junk on this thread is the fact that someone at LCC felt it was a good idea to "publicize" the all sports award more than the simple media release that was released.

While I think it's great to pat your kids on the backs for accomplishiments, it's also good to be humble when you win. I think the intent of this ad was a parting shot at the league and the area for the LCC faithful. Yes, they've had a nice run recently, but these things are cyclical, and there will be a time when LCC drops down athletically.

The reason you started this thread is the same reason you started the "LCC now in the media business?" thread on the basketball forum a month ago. You're a business man and you know bringing up an LCC topic will bring out the haters and the defenders and lead to more "hits" on your website. I find it very hard to believe that you actually care about this ad. It's just good business.
