I laugh when I read about what 'happened' to those poor Leipsic kids as if they were a part of some horrible cataclysm. They got beat in a frigging basketball game! I don't know anyone from Leipsic but I have a feeling their psyches will be OK.
I get this and respect the take. You can now understand why I laugh at the supposed injustice some LCC fans believe the new system will rain down upon them. Same response...different stimulus.
I simply do not agree that a school operating in atypical fashion by claiming multiple feeder schools across multiple traditional borders should be counted the same as a traditional school. I get the argument. I disagree it should be given much merit. There will be a vote...
I believe that IF the current "LCC borders aren't fair" argument somehow wins the day and it put into the new system... it is only a matter of time beforewe are back to voting for a split.
My opinions about LCC whether I love or hate them are of no significance for this vote. But the principals opinions matter. I can only assume that their behaviors past and present will come into play. Let us hope they handle this state wide issue much better then they did when trying to get along with conference members.
I know I'm not alone when I say many of us are tired of granting special treatment to those who refuse to bend an inch. DIV II is less than an inch for LCC. I'm not saying my opinion is "fair." I'm not saying anybody else's opinions are wrong. I AM saying that LCC didn't seem to have much urge to engage in fairness discussions while part of a conference. You will have to excuse me if the sudden about face falls on deaf ears.
I wonder how many principals out there feel the same? I honestly don't know.
