I'm not from Shelby County, but it's essentially the same thing we feed the kids in Mercer County. Well, it's a combo of the food, hard work, and a pretty stout gene pool.
Again, Good Luck to the Redskins, and the Rockets!!

Get over it. The initial shock i can understand, 24 hours later and STILL crying about the refs... you need to get out. Have a beer. Does this hurt more because you know it's going to be another couple of years to put something like this back together? I told you those seniors are really going to feel pressure in a tight game down the stretch knowing it's their last shot at it. Seifker fouling out showed that - trying to do too much.
It's something completely different when you go to C-bus. Teams know how to win and overcome , and others fold (not relating to the oville game, just in general).
It hurts, but lets get off the refs. Other have seen it many many times.. Move on with life.

These refs were absolutely terrible and should never ref a state tournament again. The long haired female ref should be relieved of her duties. It is time to use another method to picking which crews work the tournaments.

Sterio.......
Please read post no. 134.....to me, that is why Ottoville was handled by Loramie.......a good coach is never passive during any game, much less the state tournament.......call the officials out..be respectful....hell, even a technical can sometimes turn things around a little bit.....if the officials are as bad as people say, what does it hurt to get in their face........officiating at the state level has been like this for years.....it isn't going to change anytime soon!!!!
Also sterio....noticed the time of your post.......you party animal!!!!

Kaufman plays and they win by at least 5. She handles the ball great and plays great defense. How many turnovers again,32? Exactly some of those girls out therw struggled with the pressure and not faulting them but with her it takes pressure off of a lot of the guards

Refs did not lose the game for the Big Green. No breaks down the stretch but clearly got out coached again in a big game. Coach K is all alone on the bench. No help when things start going the wrong way.
Yes, Kaufman would have helped big time. Like I said before, great job getting to state even with losing your starting point guard. Almost unheard of when a small school loses most athletic player and still makes it to the big dance.
Congrats to the seniors ! No one can surpass their record the last 4 years!

Maybe your definition of fundementals is different than mine, but they are one of the best fundemental teams that I know of. Good outside and inside game, they don't foul as much defensively, they play good defense, and take smart shots. Bout the only thing I have seen they do wrong is sometimes they will make a bad decision (which tell me what team does not)? Bottom line is they lost composure. I knew in the first 2-3 mintues of the game they were in trouble because they all seemed nervous. They didn't play their best at all. They didn't utilize the inside out game like they usually do. Fort Loramie couldn't stop their inside game and more importantly they didn't even hit a single 3 pointer. This team in my mind is still the best in the state and sometimes the best team does not always win. I used to believe it did but not anymore. They just didn't play good.

Now that I said that, I wll put that to rest and move on to something else. Over the years whether it is boys or girls, I have seen Ottoville have some really tall, athletic players. Maybe it is just me, but I just haven't seen our programs get the best out of these taller players. If you follow Ottoville basketball you know what players I am referring to. Siefker was good but felt she could have been better, same with Beining. Fort Loramie had no answer for them inside. Are the programs at all focusing on an inside game, are they trying to get the best out of the "tall" players that Ottoville has had which let me say they have had some really good ones? I don't know for sure. I felt as if they did not use the inside game enough. Too many times do I see Siefker out around the perimeter rather than inside. Too many times do I see her bring the ball down to her knees rather than keep the ball up and away from the defender. I felt she is a very good player but could have been better. What I seen Friday other than the bad officiating, was the guards dribbling into double teams, picking their dribble up when shouldn't, and not shooting the ball when open. Other than that, they played good defensively but I felt they lost composure throughout the game. I don't think this team was as aggressive in these last four years which cost them as well. The guards I thought had a better year this year than the last four years, but again on Friday they seemed lost and nervous. Too many times did they dribble into double teams and pick up their dribbles. They just didn't play their best, simple as that.
I still feel they were the best team in the state this year and last year (sorry Post). But like we said over and over in order to win it all, you need luck, determiniation, compsure, and well of course "getting the calls" lol. Not to take away the teams that won it all, they did what they had to do to win. And congrats to them.
