As I stated the other day, this team has 5 D-I players. This might be the best D-IV team ever to play in Ohio.

The thing that impressed me the most about them is they play great defense and actually over-pass the ball at times. It’s not just run down the floor and chuck it, but I am sure they would be good at that.

Those of you that will get a chance to see them play in Columbus will realize they are not a normal D-IV team.

The scary thing I believe will happen is this school will be D-IV for a long time and just reload. Good luck to small town Ohio. Looks like D-IV teams in the future will be playing for 2nd place for a few more years! Your only hope to make the finals might be that you don’t have to play them in the semis.

Good Luck Troy Christian.

I will put the over/under for the number of VASJ fans that show up at 207. About 10% of what Leipsic will have :). Heck I will go so far as to say thats Leipsic will have mpre fans at their semi final game than VASJ, Troy Christian and Fairfield Christian combined

You probably nailed it!

State is going to lose a lot of money when this D-IV school doesn't bring the whole town like most small communities.

Troy Christian and whoever wins the other semi are simply cannon fodder. It will be ugly.

Thanks for the obvious statement you never woulda made if your Jays had won. More butt hurt comments following a loss.

Jays wouldn't touch this team either. Hell, the final 4 teams in DIII wouldn't even stay within 10 points of this team.

This is reminding me a lot of the Elida Dunbar game. Everybody saying Dunbar will win by 30.

Seriously.......Blue Jay and Coach are not pulling your tale fellas....I think 2 of the seniors for VASJ have already made the commitment to D1 schools and they have a 6'9" sophomore that OSU is looking at.......if you fellas thinks the other 3 teams in D4 can compete against this crew....so be it.....I believe 'Coach'!!!!

Yea.....if it makes you feel better.....I guess that is what some public schools are after.....you know....I feel good for our team because we are state champions......if there ever is a division between public and private.....it will forever taint a state champion and ruin high school sports in Ohio........but hey....if that's what they want!!!!!!

You want to tell me that these others schools have kids who have played together for 12 years? I feel that schools that can attract students from a large population base have an unfair advantage over schools who take what the residents give them. Leipsic gets 100 boys in high school out of a population base of 3000 town/country residents, in a 50 square mile district. CVASJ, Troy C., Newark Catholic, etc. get 100 students out of a much larger population base, perhaps 10+ times larger than our base.

Flounder, I'm not gonna get into a pissing match with you over public/private schools as the subject has been argued many, many times. All I'm saying is that WE are the last non parochial team left in our division.

I respect VASJ's players and coaches. I respect the amount of dedication acquiring their skill had to take. I assume these are fine kids with remarkable work ethics.

I HAVE ZERO RESPECT FOR ANY OF THEIR TITLES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT THE DIV IV LEVEL.

I simply don't acknowledge their trophies/titles/records. I will always remember Leipsic's.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

And Dman.....I agree with you.......I just wish that this state could come up with a fair way to handle the recruiting problems that they are having...both by public and private schools...and yet not hurt those private more in particular than public that play by the rules.....that is all that I am saying......I have never been a advocate of letting the privates get away with what they are doing...some public schools are doing it also, but the fair amount of blame is going to the private schools.......but, I feel that DSJ does play by the rules, yet we will also be treated the same as those that are guilty.....that is what I disagree with!!!!

vikes.....

No need to get into a pissing match and good for Leipsic that they are the last public standing........but the reason I even mentioned anything at all is because I can remember some of the Leipsic posters that were lumping DSJ in the same category as those private schools you mentioned.......and that is so far from the truth!!!!!

DSJ has had the same kids together throughout their 12 years. This was stated on previous FB posts so I wasn't going to include them. Perhaps the other Christian Schools are the same way, I don't know.

I thought Youngstown Christian had a pretty nice ball club and have a legit shot at the state title. That was until I saw VASJ.

Just said there was no need for the post. Said it was obvious. I've seen them on tv and read all about them as well.

Flounder my friend, AAU has already ruined high school sports. This will only quicken the process. Could call it Obamasports.
