I think their low shooting percentage was probably caused by the fact that they didn't make very many of their shots.

Example.....shoot 20 shots....make 12.....that's 60%

BUT............if you only make 5.....that's only 25%

You make less...........your percentage goes down. Hope I helped.

lmao......charlie, great explanation, and that should set the 'student of the game' straight....never to old to learn!!!!!!

Don't forget to give Spencerville credit, they are a senior-laden and well coached team. The bearcats lost their first 3 games to quality opponents and the only questionable loss on the schedule was at Marion Local (an understandable non-conf. loss).

The Spencerville- LCC rematch shapes up to be a dandy.

You guys are unbelievable. No wonder a small percentage of northwest Ohio gives a darn about this site. Also just realized why I went three years w/o making a post. People not well known (personally or from JJ Huddle days) were and are treated like *******.

All I was looking for was some insightful comments, not useless unintelligent nonsense.

To the few of you that did provide insight...thank you, and I mean that. To the few of you that provided useless unintelligent flounderness...thank you, and I meant that. See if one averages close to or more than one comment a day on this little known website you are basically talking to yourself on a continuous basis. I hope you enjoy that.

This does help b/c it supports my curiosity. See if a team shot 60% one game and 25% the next over the course of 22 games that results in a standard deviation of almost 18%...which is quite a big dispersion. This team would be considered a 10 on the extreme scale of inconsistency. That being said...I highly doubt that Liberty Benton shot 60% 11 times during the season and 25% the other 11.

For this year especially, the Lima District is very difficult with Spencerville, LB and LCC, all three easily good enough to win district titles. Carey's wishing they would have kept out those few extra students that pushed them to D3!! A little surprised with this year's early exit, thought this team had a chances. Still, they are nearly all coming back next year except for Linhart.

Agreed...they had good perimeter shooting and a great 3man in Cytrak (sorry if I misspelled that one). Sensenbaugh has got his team playing on all cylinders, and from the sounds of it this will be the norm for at least four more years (see Spencerville 8th grade basketball).

They did not play well @ all against DSJ back at the end of January, but since then they have been the hottest team in the area.

LB seemed to miss a lot of shots in the paint. Some contested, some not. They also appeared to be tentative outside the arc, not wanting to pull the trigger at times.

Saw the recap on Lima CH44. Spenserville coach was very gracious to the LB team and to Coach Williman. Good sportsmanship and class goes a long way...... Congrats to LB on a good regular season, and good luck to Spencerville vs. LCC.

Liberty Benton did not have alot of open looks tonight. Spencerville had someone in their face nearly every shot and was pretty physical all game. I don't know much about LB but it seemed like they were not comfortable shooting the ball tonight. People dont give Spencerville much credit because they lose 6-7 games most years, but they get used to playing a physical game by playing alot of MAC School.

The Bearcats will have their work cutout Saturday night as they had a tough physical game tonight and LCC basically had a night off.

Good Luck Bearcats Saturday night!

Scrimmaged Spencerville - a very athletic, strong, physical basketball team that could be a handful for LB. LB will have their hands full in terms of Spencerville's overall strength and aggressiveness but LB probably has more skilled basketball players. Hard to pick against a Williman team that has good skills - but Spencerville's strength/athleticism may be a difference maker against LB that is not very physical.

I got beat up a bit for this post, but in the end I think this is exactly what happened. LB will struggle against very physical opponents and obviously did last night. Nothing to be ashamed of though - LB will be very good next year again. Losing Linhart is a big loss however, bigger than most think. He was the only player that could defend on the post and provided some physicality.

Posty.....

You are right.....Spencerville was very physical last night and I think that really took its toll on LB....Spencerville frustrates many of the teams they play......they are a very hard nosed blue collar outfit.....never count them out!!!!!

I've read probably 95% of your and the other's posts over the last several years I know what you are talking about.

Just seems that when some are poked at it's funny and when others are poked at they get the ...what'd we call it again on the Huddle?

We scrimmaged Spencerville and I saw up close how physical they were and athletic. I knew this would be a huge issue with LB, as it would be with most teams. LB is very skilled, but not very physical. Teams that can push them around can have some success against them but there just aren't a lot of those teams around. I like S'ville team a lot - wish them well in tourney run.

I was really surprised by this one. Sure Spencerville plays a tougher and more physical schedule but I still thought Williman and LB would win this game. Usually its LB applying great pressure and making teams shoot 35% from the field. LB has a real nice team and will be back next year. They have one more quality year left and then the talent drops off a bit. Nice year Eagles and good luck spencerville.

One more year for Coach Williman? He will be a hard act to follow.
