Leipsic had the bye last year, was rusty in the sectional final and lost to McComb in their first tourney game.
You can't blame Leipsic for wanting to stay loose. Their jv's played the entire 4th and everyone on Leipsic's team scored.

You can only work on so much against your own defense, because the defense knows what your offense is trying to do and will "cheat" whether they mean to or not. Why would you give up a bye just because that's what someone thinks you should do? Last time I checked....HS basketball is about winning games. I'd much rather see a good team play a game than take a bye.
