Funny it sounds just like Grove, who turned down the bye last year and beat North Baltimore by 58!

Leipsic had the bye last year, was rusty in the sectional final and lost to McComb in their first tourney game.
You can't blame Leipsic for wanting to stay loose. Their jv's played the entire 4th and everyone on Leipsic's team scored.

A lot of teams turn down a bye....not so they can beat up on a bad opponent...but so they can get some more court time against someone other than than their own kids. You can only work on so much against your own defense, because the defense knows what your offense is trying to do and will "cheat" whether they mean to or not. Why would you give up a bye just because that's what someone thinks you should do? Last time I checked....HS basketball is about winning games. I'd much rather see a good team play a game than take a bye.
