Seriously? Nah, but it shows that they were vulnerable on a (probable) off-night to a decent but not great team. That's certainly not a criticism, because as you pointed out anybody can have a bad night. There are teams, though, that are so good that they don't have close games even on bad nights.
Absolutely.

What does the cheating Regina have to do with this topic? What is, is. The luckiest and/or best team will win. Remember, 10-12 billion people in this world, do not know what basketball is. Have a great weekend, go Green.

You are correct Von.....Kalida has been to State 3 times and have never been beat. That in itself is pretty impressive! Getting back to the Ottoville girls, I hope this is the year they bring home a State championship, good luck to the Lady Green !!

I know the history of PCL basketball and baseball, thanks to Dan Kern, who spent 1000's of hours researching the stats from PC. Also, his uncle was a great teacher at Ottoville and did the announcing at Ottoville when I played there. Thanks

So another regional final loss - we can just chalk that up to a bad night already? Not stirring, just asking.. This is going to be the most pressure this SR. class is going to encounter not only all year, but of their careers. Pressure with trying to get back to state will mount exponentially in a close game in those regional games..I just have a feeling the teams focus is state, not each game. I say ottoville doesn't make it to state.. again.

I believe Ottoville has a real shot this year... however I agree with Emerson...sounds like they're focused on State more than each game... hopefully that doesn't ruin it for them in the end.

The only way Ottoville doesn't make it to state is if they lose to Crestview in district finals. No team in the regionals will beat them but I guess you never know. I think Ottoville has the best team in the regional at least even without Kaufman so yes Emerson if Ottoville loses before state they were simply playing a team that was just their night and not their own. Because that is what it will take.

paperboy has a very good point.....barring a major catastrophe, Ottoville will make it to state.....Crestview will be the only obstacle, and I believe they are still a year away.....it is by far the easiest path to Cbus, and not even Hiland has as easy a path as Ottoville....but, once Ottoville walks on the Schott, it will be a different story as the competition will be a little stiffer...one region will send a patsy, and just hope that Ottoville gets that region the first game, but winning the whole enchilada will prove difficult...not saying that Ottoville cannot win it all, but the past does not really work in their favor.....I will be pulling hard for the Big Green.....unless they go up against the MAC....I have always had a soft spot for Hiland also, but I will be pulling for Ottoville!!!!!

Oh flounder lol we will just have to agree to disagree on that who has an easier road. lmao

By the way the past is irrelevant. If we continue to rely on what happened in the past there would be no reason to play this game lol

Sterio.....

You are right concerning your last point....I remember the last Hiland/Ottoville game.....one difference between your thoughts and mine Mysterio....you have a bias and I do not......Ottoville will only be tested by Crestview....write it down...the rest of the way it will be cake.....providing Ottoville comes to play........Hiland could face Garaway, Rosencrans, and Lake Ridge Academy...all very quality opponents who Ottoville has not seen the likes of all season.......trust me on this one Sterio......and believe it or not, but Hiland may not even make it to Cbus!!!!!

Flounder i think i am about as unbiased as they come if you ask me and you know that. lol You even said that in our many discussions in the past. There is no bias to my point flounder considering as a fan I would want the easier road to state lol not sure why anyone would want the tougher road. But hey we have our opinions and I think you and rocketman do a fine job on here. I also do my homework and been to state seen who Berlin Hiland plays every year in tournament. But maybe this year is different so i will take your word for it bud. I will say this throw that out of the window because one thing for sure is you need things to go your way and your best to make it there. I think we can agree on that. Perhaps some day i will see ya down there.

Given that Minster (which finished 3rd in the MAC) took Ottoville to the wire, in a game AT Ottoville, I have to believe there are many teams that CAN beat the Big Green.
That was the first game after losing Kaufman and Mangas with her first start.. Now we win by 20

Ottoville has been looking at those state games for many years. Yes you have to take it one game at a time, but what team doesn't dream about that final game down in Cbus? Skill, smarts, good players, good coaches, and luck get a team to that final game. Over the past years, Ottoville has had it all but the luck. Arlington played the game of their career to knock them out last year which was a tough blow for Ottoville (the luck just wasn't on their side). This year it could be different who knows. Nobody will until there are 4 teams left in D4. No team can be overlooked. A team who has a hot night can knock Ottoville out. Every team brings their A game when they play Ottoville. There is a huge bullet on their back. Just like in the past, Ottoville needs to be clicking in tourney to get to state, and if they aren't, an upset could be in their future.

If ottoville thinks like the fans and followers of the big green, it's going to be heartbreak city. Carey for example might just do the dirty deed. Being overlooked is great bulletin board material.
